Outstanding Monitor
MSI MAG 274QRF QD E2 This is an outstanding monitor by MSI. The picture quality is amazing. It's Quantum Dot technology really gives this monitor a massive coverage of all colour gamuts. It does not need calibrating out of the box as the settings are very close to being perfect. Just set Gaming to User, Professional to sRGB, Colour Temperature to Normal, response times via three overdrive profiles to Fast, and active Adaptative Sync if you have a fairly modern GPU. Then Windows settings, set display to 180hz and it's good to go. I really love the fact that its a plug and go monitor, no messing about to get a good picture. I choose this monitor due to it's Quantum Dot tech, it has a 180hz refresh rate and it's a 2560x1440 resolution. This monitor has really blown me away. I researched a lot of other monitors and this one really stood out. Hardware Unboxed (Monitors Unboxed) has a really good review of the 1st gen version. This is the second gen with a higher brightness of 400 cd/m² and a higher refresh rate of 180hz. What impressed me the most is when I'm gaming. The colours make everything look so vivid and the 180hz refresh rate and brightness make my experience move immersive. This is one of the best non OLED monitors currently on the market. The monitor, in my opinion does not have any downsides. It's priced very reasonably, and has a lot of features that true hardcore gamers would love. For me it's a really good monitor that satisfies all my needs, emails, office work, streaming and gaming.

Fantastic monitor
Msi mag 274qrf QD E2, £238. Quick review - for £238 it's 10/10, looks great, great monitor arm like stand, bright, colourful and no dead or stuck pixels or noticeable backlight bleed. Longer review - I wanted a monitor that to me is good value, looks good, bright, colourful,1440p and leaves no regrets after purchase. Feel like I got exactly what I was looking for, actually really happy with this monitor. I looked at loads of monitor reviews as my current 1080p one is 10 years old. I couldn't find many reviews on this one as it's quite new, ones I did find seemed positive, it's also an upgrade to the first edition which seemed to be a decent monitor. I did keep coming back to this monitor and to me this seemed to be the one that ticked the boxes. The screen looks really good, in my opinion it's really not much of a leap away from how my pixel 6a looks which is 1080p oled. That's about the best way to describe it realistically as ive not got anything else that's comparable. The main thing I was most happy with actually was that the monitor came with 0 dead pixels, 0 stuck pixels and no noticeable backlight bleed, I even ran a monitor test just to check and it's pixel perfect which was an unnecessary worry I gave myself from reading too many reviews. The monitor stand it comes with is fantastic, you can move the monitor into all the positions, it has in my situation, saved me from buying a monitor arm. I've added a few photos, white colour test one shows the no dead or frozen pixels, I would have added more but mobile pics of the monitor really don't represent how good it actually looks. Overall I feel it was the right purchase for me and do feel like it's excellent value compared to other monitors in this price range.

I really like this monitor
My main reason for buying this monitor is the 180Hz refresh rate because I'm sitting very close So with this monitor I have no issues with headaches from flickering or like tiredness from like a 60Hz monitor. My only issue is there's a tiny blurry dead pixel or smudge/slight burnt pixel near the center I cleaned and wiped multiple times my screen but it's inside the screen It's not as bad as on my picture I zoomed in so if I watch a movie it's not an issue at all but if I edit photos or using Ableton I see the "slight smudge" there. I'm going on a holiday so I'm most likely not going to return it. I don't know I'll see

Very bad backlight bleed
Very bad backlight bleed along the sides and corners, I will be returning this one and I am not to sure whether to chance a 2nd one. The photo was taken during the day, it's a shame as apart from this issue it's a nice monitor.

Great high refresh rate 1440p monitor, would recommend!
Firstly this review is taking place almost 9 months after I recieved the monitor, no major issues so far, no dead pixels, picture quality and colour accuracy is fantastic, only image quality issue I have is it does have quite a bit of "IPS bleed" which basically means playing a game or watching a film that's supposed to be dark, has that kind of grey glow under the screen, but this is quite common on all IPS panels, think I got a bit unlucky with one that's slightly worse than average, but it's not a big issue. 180hz, VRR, smooth for gaming, even games that are not well optimised feel smoother due to VRR. In terms of value for money, you won't find much better than this, I would highly recommend for a 1440p gaming experience.

Good monitor with flawed quality assurance
A fantastic monitor with good features for the pricepoint when purchased - £238. Wanted to utilise the KVM switch for WFH with a laptop. However, a dead pixel appeared towards the center left of the screen within one hour of usage. Upon initial inspection, monitor looked to have been flawless. The pixel showed on all coloured backgrounds when tested, and was a distracting red colour on white backgrounds. Returned for a refund as other reviews report same issues. Seems like a lottery if you'll get a good one, or if a dead pixel appears in a less obvious place.

Great Screen, Great Features and Spec' for the Price......Terrible Quality Control
I tried a number of these and they either had dead pixels on arrival, heavy light bleeding sometimes being very visible during grey..... or one screen that was nearly perfect by any standard....for a few minutes (more on that later) --------------‐ So I really wanted to like this screen: Firstly....the colour performance is simply exceptional; better than monitors hundreds more thanks to the QD layer and it has inbuilt modes for different colour gamut; including SRGB and Adobe RGB for photography (which I love). Colours are accurate from the off if you chose the "user" mode rather than "premium colour" Screen is brighter than you'd think, calibrated they were between 460 and 470 Nits (and, where there isn't heavy light bleed the blacks are surprisingly good), that 20-30 Nits is definitely visible in highlights compared to other HDR400 screens that are slightly dimmer. The stand is pretty great, with a full range of motion and it is fairly smooth, it doesn't go quite high enough for my liking but you can get something to stand it on and lower it since the stand height adjustment goes down to it would get blocked by the Desk. Very smooth motion and Gsync Compatability works very well from 48fps to 180fps when you turn adaptive sync on for the screen. It is plug and play, with a good menu layout, decent options (though I mostly left these alone) and good placement of the joystick to change the options.....or use the MSI app through the PC desktop. Most of these options are locked if you turn on HDR except sharpness, but this ain't unusual. It has nice connectivity options with a USB C (that can be used to charge at 60W or an alternative to the DP feed, very nice!) And with the KVM switch to enable the use of one keyboard and mouse with multiple computers (A nice to have especially at this price point). The HDMI are only 2.0 rather than 2.1 but not surprising, but it does mean it isn't compatible with VRR on the PS5 or Xbox. It does have a nice party piece in that is has an automatic "console mode " that will take a 4k signal and sample it down to 1440p so creating a nicer image than a pure 1440p signal; especially helpful for Xbox's as they only accept HDR through a 4k signal. Doesn't have sound....but this ain't a bad thing for me as I always am on a headset, but worth mentioning. --------------------- The big *But*....... So I obviously have a lot of good things to say but to remind you of the beginning; Terrible Quality Control. I had a half dozen of these and they were all faulty in some way, with excessive light bleed (always worst in the top left....probably because the frame is very asymmetrical on the back and it is near a cut out for RGB lights (which ain't very good), dead pixels on arrival or developing soon after and one that even cracked from the pressure at the edge. The interesting thing is I had one that was obviously newer ( had a newer monitor firmware) and was almost perfect for 10 minutes....until I got 5-7 hot pixels during dark scenes....so I wonder if there is something wrong with particular batches. Amazon themselves are the reason this review is 3 stars and I encourage you not to get from elsewhere if you do chance it as they have been A+ at returns. I'm not going to continue trying, but if you do I wish you luck....if you get a decent example you will have an exceptional screen at a exceptional price!

Good monitor for £200
Assembly took roughly 5 mins and was easy, no stuck or dead pixels (at least yet), which was the first thing I checked for. Had to change up the monitor options to get the best colours, HDR seemed kinda useless and made the screen rather dim and the Premium Color mode is oversaturated. Found user mode to be best, though I don't own a colorimeter. In either case, it's significantly better than my 240hz Alienware I got a few years ago in terms of picture quality. One thing to note, if you run this monitor on an old GPU, you might not be able to max out this monitor, as in my case I run a 1060 and have to cap the monitor at 165 hz whilst using native resolution (1440p). Whilst not perfect, this monitor is extremely good at a £200 price point and definitely recommend.
