PERFECT FOR NEANDERTHALS, BUT NORMAL FOLK WILL HAVE TO PAY TO GET THE SLEEVES SHORTENED.
Good jacket, well made, quality. It has everything going for it, except the sleeves. If you are neanderthal and you drag your knuckles on the ground when you walk, then this is the jacket for you, as even with arms that long you can cover your knuckles and protect them from damage as they drag along the ground.A fantastic jacket ruined by stupidly and ridiculously long sleeves, so long I will now have to pay a tailor to remove SIX INCHES.The jacket is already pricey, but adding another GBP 50 to pay a decent tailor to do a good job makes it a very expensive jacket. The jacket is not practically wearable by a non-neanderthal. Buy if you're willing to pay the extra to have the sleeves shortened, or if you are willing to leave them permanently rolled up.Many others have warned about the long sleeves, but they were understating the problem. I have several other Paramo jackets, all of which have sleeves that are perfect for me, so it's not me that's deformed, it's definitely the jacket.I could return the jacket, but I like it, and so I will fork out another load of money to have its fatally flawed sleeve design fixed. Maybe the designer is neanderthal?

Be careful with your sizing, not easy fit as discribed
After some research….I ordered from Amazon, I would have preferred to have bought in a local shop but this jacket is not available locally. So ordered of Amazon, I already have a Paramo jacket so after carefully rechecking the Paramo size chart, measuring myself …..I order XL as I am 113cm chest XL is up to 117cm, My current Paramo is a XL and a comfortable loose fit, this product is described as easy fit.So I felt confident it would be ok…not so, it is a tight fit in only a tee shirt, I would not be able to sit down with it fastened…let alone fill the pockets, traveller jacket?I still like the jacket and would order another but surprise surprise …...XXL out if stock!I am annoyed however having to pay return postage on a garment that is clearly faulty, hopefully this will stop anyone else making the same mistake.I have awarded it only three stars because of this, otherwise it looks a good jacket.....

It's Paramo, so must be good
I originally bought large one size smaller than this one, as Paramo tends to be a generous fit. All my other Paramo gear fits with this philosophy, so was surprised the original didn't fit. Even this XL is somewhat snug, but is a good comfortable fit all the same (if that doesn't sound too contradictory?!). I have seen posts about the XL having long sleeves and whilst they are longer than my arms, only slightly so (and no more than other jackets, Paramo jackets or otherwise).

I have the Halcon coat and Travel waistcoat plus lots of other Paramo clothing - all in large. The rugged Jacket in large is just a tad tight - however it is a really nice jacket with the usual 'Halcon' copious amount of pockets.Paramo is expensive gear but it comes with lifetime warranty and you don't hear folk complaining about Paramo quality or service. As with all Paramo garments you can waterproof it with Nikwax if needed.

Adequate Design, Poor Materials
Bought April 2017 and worn out by August 2019, so anything but rugged. The 'coat of many pockets' idea is a good one but to complete its functionality it needs buttons not plastic poppers, button epaulettes to hang your water bottle or hat on, a buckle belt, and a fabric tougher than that selected. This was my second and I won't be buying another.

Decent quality but has it's draw backs
This jacket is well made from good quality material but there are a couple of things that let it down. The collar is too small for my liking and it soaks up water like blotting paper which is not good in the British climate. I've tried waterproofing it with Nikwax Cotton + but it's only marginally better. The manufacturers may claim it's intended for summer wear but I found it to warm for a summers day, autumn yes but don't get caught in the rain.In other respects it has plenty of pockets and because the jacket is close fitting the pockets don't sag when they are fully loaded.
