Needed this for a special Pita Pocket recipe. Absolutely works great and tastes great. Easy to work with and fits my nutritional intake.

I have been using this Ground sunflower seed meal in my smoothies and the occasional oatmeal bowl. I have yet to bake with it, but I imagine it can be swapped in for something, or simply added in with minor liquid adjustments. Might be good as a veg burger binder or for making a pizza crust of the sort. Or as a coating for chicken or pork. But I am enjoying it in my smoothies too much at the moment to give it a go in anything else. I thought it would have a stronger taste, but it is kind of neutral tasting to me. Maybe my tastebuds are broken. Meets my expectations. I would consider it again.

This is a good substitute for Almond flour in your keto or gluten free baking. I have one family member allergic to nuts so it is a good nut-free substitute. It reacts the way Almond flour does, and not like coconut that absorbs too much liquid sometimes. It has a mild taste, so great for taking on the flavor of other ingredients. Low carb so good for keto as well.

I use the sunflower seed meal to replace almond flour. It works very well in my GF Vegan muffins. It’s softer or less “gritty” than almond flour. 1 C meal + 1 C King Arthur’s GF all purpose flour. I also add 2 Tb Buckwheat flour as I like them dark. 1/4 C soaked flaxseed meal (as egg replacer), 2Tb baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda and 2 TB lemon juice (for CO2) (Also some grated carrot, +/or apple, raisins, banana...)
