Effective, Gentle, and Budget-Friendly Dandruff Relief
I recently tried the Amazon Basics Moisturizing Dandruff Shampoo, and I’m genuinely impressed. It uses 1% selenium sulfide—the same active ingredient in pricier brands—but costs a fraction of the price. The shampoo lathers nicely, and the addition of aloe really helps keep my hair soft instead of stripping it dry. After just a couple of uses, I noticed less itching and fewer flakes. It didn’t leave my hair feeling crunchy; instead, it rinsed clean and left a light, fresh scent. One thing I liked was the moisturizing feel—I didn’t need an extra conditioner afterward, which saves time and money.A few weeks in, the dandruff hasn’t come back, and my scalp feels healthy. If you’re dealing with flakes or itchiness and want something effective without being harsh, this shampoo hits the sweet spot.

Works great
Had a bad case of SebDerm in my eyebrows. Pretty embarrassing spot to have dandruff. My routine is usually to comb and scrape off the flakes as best as I could before applying topicals to cool it off. This works but tends to lead to relapse with more flares and flakes after a while. I've tried shampoos and cleansers with pyrithione zinc, but never selenium sulfide, so I figured I would give it a go. This stuff is no joke. For half the price of Selsun you get a giant bottle. It smells great and is really thick and greasy feeling. Redness and itching was totally gone after 1 use and I haven't noticed even a speck of dandruff since. I'm glad something does what it says for a change.

Budget-Friendly and Scalp-Soothing: Amazon Basics Dandruff Shampoo Review
I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of this Amazon Basics Moisturizing Dandruff Shampoo. As someone who struggles with a dry, itchy scalp, I was curious to see if this affordable option could stand up to pricier dandruff solutions. Here’s my honest take after using it for several weeks:What I Loved:Effective Dandruff Control: With 1% Selenium Sulfide, this shampoo did a great job reducing dandruff and keeping my scalp comfortable. After a few uses, I noticed a significant decrease in flaking, which boosted my confidence to wear darker clothes again!Moisturizing Formula with Aloe Vera: Unlike some anti-dandruff shampoos that leave your hair feeling stripped, this one has aloe vera, which kept my hair soft and manageable. It felt like a nice balance between treatment and care.Pleasant Fragrance: The scent is light and refreshing, not overly medicated like some other dandruff shampoos. It’s a small touch, but it makes the experience much more enjoyable.Affordable and Convenient: At this price point, it’s a fantastic budget-friendly option for anyone who needs consistent dandruff control without breaking the bank.Room for Improvement:Thick Consistency: While the formula works well, the shampoo is quite thick, which can make it a bit challenging to rinse out completely. If you’re in a rush, this might leave a slight residue. Using warm water and taking extra time to rinse thoroughly helps.Small Bottle Size: At 11 oz, the bottle feels small for regular use, especially if you wash your hair daily. I found myself needing a refill sooner than expected, which slightly detracts from the convenience factor.Long-Term Use and My Experience:After several weeks, I’m happy to report that the results have been consistent. My scalp feels healthier, and I’ve experienced far less itching and irritation. While it may not offer luxury-level packaging or feel like a premium product, it does exactly what it promises—and that’s what matters most to me.Final Verdict:If you’re looking for an affordable dandruff shampoo that’s effective, gentle, and keeps your hair moisturized, this is worth a try. While there are minor drawbacks like the thick formula and smaller bottle size, the results more than make up for it. This shampoo delivers where it counts—clean, flake-free hair at an unbeatable price!Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It’s a solid 4-star product that holds its own in a sea of overpriced alternatives. 👌

Miracle Shampoo.
This shampoo is a lifesaver! It's a definite must-have, especially if you struggle with dandruff. For me, it's the only thing that truly works to keep those flakes at bay. What's even better is that it doesn't dry out my hair like so many other dandruff shampoos do. The quality is superior, and it leaves my hair feeling clean, healthy, and with a noticeable shine. Plus, it smells amazing! I highly recommend this shampoo to anyone looking for effective dandruff control without sacrificing the health and beauty of their hair. Works amazing, and stop the itchiness.

Works well to maintain tinea versicolor
Great price, effective for my use of keeping tinea versicolor at bay. I used to put it on my skin before showering, and let it sit there for 5 mins or so. Now, I squirt some onto my washcloth along with shower gel; and wash my body that way. I easily get tinea versicolor, and this helps keep it from showing up for the most part. But you have to use it as preventative, daily.

BOTTLE BLONDES BEWARE!
Update: I gave a third star because the green finally came all the way out. So no permanent damage. Still, it was an all-night ordeal...and the smell still lingers.I gave it 2 stars because it's cruelty free and does what it's supposed to. In fact, it's the only affordable dandruff shampoo I found that is cruelty free. Big props for that. However, there were two very bad things:1) The smell. Three rounds of shampoo and conditioning mask later, I can still smell it so strong I can taste it. And not just in that dandruff-shampoo-is-smelly sort of way. This stuff is strong.2) As I stated in the title, the lightest parts of my hair are mint green -- even after repeatedly scrubbing etc. I understand that people want their product to look like what they're used to but maybe cut down on at least half the coloring agent. You just can't mess with a woman's hair like that! I'm hoping a fourth round gets the rest of the green out.One thing I noticed though was that the first time I put on a conditioning mask after using the dandruff shampoo, my hair felt like it was crying with relief. My skin too. If anything drastic happens like my hair falling out I'll come back and update -- but honestly it can't be that bad. Right??
