fanxiang 512GB 2.5" SATA III SSD, Up to 550MB/s, SATA 6Gb/s

1TB SSD SATA III 6Gb/s 2.5″,Up to 560MB/s, SATA SSD 1TB,Internal Solid State Drives for Laptop,PC Desktops-S101Q I bought this 1TB SATA III SSD (S101Q) to upgrade an old laptop, and it’s made a massive difference. The speed boost was immediate — boot times dropped from minutes to seconds, and apps open almost instantly. Claimed speeds of up to 560MB/s feel accurate in real-world use. Installation was straightforward — swapped out the old hard drive, cloned the OS, and was up and running in no time. No issues with detection or compatibility. If you’ve done even a bit of tech work before, you’ll find it easy. What stood out to me is the price-to-performance ratio — this drive punches way above its weight for the cost. No glitches, no overheating, and it's been rock-solid in both a laptop and a desktop build I tried it in. If you're looking to give an old system new life or just want a dependable SSD for everyday use, this is a solid choice. Would definitely buy again.

What stood out: Saturates the SATA III Interface: With sequential read speeds consistently hitting close to the rated 550–560MB/s and writes around 500MB/s, it performs right at the practical ceiling of SATA III. Night-and-Day Boot & Load Times: Swapping out an old mechanical HDD for this transforms the entire responsiveness of a PC or laptop. Windows boot times drop from minutes to seconds, and game loading screens are significantly faster. Standard 7mm Fit: The slim 2.5" form factor drops easily into standard laptop bays, desktop drive sleds, or behind the motherboard tray with zero clearance issues. Price-to-Capacity Value: For secondary storage, game installations, or breathing new life into an aging rig without spending NVMe money, the cost per gigabyte is excellent. Keep in mind: DRAM-Less Design: Like most budget SATA drives, it relies on an SLC cache rather than a dedicated onboard DRAM chip. For day-to-day boot tasks, general gaming, and light file transfers, it stays snappy. However, if you're continuously writing massive 50GB+ files, speeds will throttle down once the cache buffer fills. SATA vs. NVMe: It maxes out SATA III speeds, but if your motherboard has an open M.2 NVMe slot and you do heavy video editing, NVMe will be multiple times faster for similar money. An affordable, dependable drop-in drive that works brilliantly as a game library drive or a budget system revival.

These drives are impressive and have a huge noticeable improvement to our old laptop. I didn't want to through the old laptop away, so decided to upgrade it and use it as a simple old school games machine. I had never heard of this product brand before. but know now that FANXIANG is trusted quality and very reliable. The size is like for like on our 2.5 drive slot and offers great speed both write and read. I have also bought the next size above this and it is just as great

Avoid as they are the type of product that just stops working and then you've lost everything. Mine lasted 3 months and stopped - I am a technical person and I tried every trick in the book to try and get this to work and I contacted the company directly for support (as it advises) and they never replied. Pay more money and get something more reliable - I've had many NvME and SSD drives by other "popular" brands and even though they cost a bit more they've lasted years. This is the second type of cheap SSD (or USB stick) I've had that just stop working and it's always outside the Amazon guarantee. If you DO get one of these, make sure you set up a mirror/backup service. My son had this in his PC and he lost all of his work and it's REALLY frustrating as unlike HDD you can't get much back from the SSD with recovery tools.

Right like any normal person i saw a uknown brand ssd and intantly thought ill buy it now then ill swap it out for a known brand at the end of the month however this drive had been beautiful i orginally had it a laptop that id replaced the hdd with and it improved the performance loads my boot time was practically shot in half, then once i built my pc i had no use for my laptop so took the drive out and stuck it in my ps4 and now that console yes its outdated and stil quite slow for the games i play it sped up the loading a lot and has been there ever since and even checking the drive with crystal disk its still running perfectly with no issues. so i will be buy ing more drives rom Fanxiang in the future

What not bad for Windows systems, but completely ignored by old mac's (mid 2014) its just cant see it then connected directly, but perfectly working via usb adapter, not sure is it native drivers missing in mac os (tryed Lyon, el Capitan, Big Sur, Sequola - on macbook pro '2011, macmini '2014) but will not recomend for use in macs

Product ok

Easy to install as a replacement C drive on my laptop. I cloned the Original drive to the new and it came up a treat. Recommended.

Got the unit today. I formatted in a Atomos Ninja Ultra and then had to go into file exploper (PC) and give the card access. Once done, I was able to copy a 4k 422 10bit file of 57Gb. It transfered quickly and played back without the hitch. Placed into the Ninja with a Lumix BGH1 at 4k 60p and card could not, did not and cannot record. The card sent a warning to the Ninja, 'compressed resolution to 720p. I switched to my standard set up: 4K DCI vLOG 24P, 422 / 10 bit and record for two hours and 11 minutes. Card never quit. Played back and perfect. Let's hope this card has legges.

This was second time I am buying this product and am very satisfied.

Excellent
