Battery Smoke Alarm

Very pleased with this purchase. Packaging was great. Bought this as used and they were in original condition. Batteries were new so nothing had been used or previously installed. I had purchased a First Alert before for my camper from Camping World. It came with a Duracell battery. These did not. I opted for a yeary battery change vs. the 10 year internal battery. I had the 10 year (not First Alert), and they only lasted 4-5 years.

This smoke alarm was quick and easy to install, and it provides exactly what I was looking for-reliable protection and peace of mind. The instructions were clear, and it was up and running in just a few minutes. The alarm has a clean, low-profile design that blends in nicely with the ceiling. I also like that it's battery operated, so it continues working even if the power goes out. The test button is easy to access, and the alarm is loud enough to be heard throughout the house, which is exactly what you want in an emergency. Ordered as replacements for a rental property. Arrived as expected based off of the add, installed with the included hardware, the detector fit into the bracket easily. Based on previous version of the detector these have a high level of reliability and with new technology, false alarms from cooking are a thing of the past. The alarm produces a loud alarm that will alert anyone in the house of smoke. Have used this brand and versions of this alarm for years in rental property with no problems and few false alarms. Would order again.

A quick install. I was prepared to drill a new hole or two, but I found two from previous installations that lined up perfectly. The design of the frame that holds the working part allows for quite a few options for hole spacing. If you are replacing an old one in the same location, you may also find you don't need to get out a 3/16" drill bit. It will fit as is. Battery is supplied. I have spares. I tested it with matches. Works perfectly. An additional plus is that it is Made In Mexico, which I consider a plus, because I don't want China getting any more of my business than I have to give them. As you can see, what I got does not look like the image of what I ordered. Same model number however.

Has mounting screws and anchors. Plastic feels a bit flimsy but once it's in place it should be fine. Other models I've bought are definitely much sturdier. Should be easy to change the battery, frame stays on wall and you rotate main part of alarm to install/remove. I am disappointed that the included Great Power battery only lasted 3 days. I've had them in other products and they are OK for months. These may be old stock with old batteries.

This smoke alarm was just what I needed. It work's great in my RV, fit's perfect, very easy to install, the alarm was load so people can hear it. Price was good for this product

Battery is easily replaced. Size of the unit easily covers any pre-existing unit as if it is an original install.

I am selling my house and from my home inspection the only thing I legally had to replace was all 4 of my smoke alarms. 1 is hard wired and the other 3 are battery operated. I bought a hard wired to replace my existing, and then 3 battery operated and they were the same size as my previous ones so I was able to reuse the holes and mount these up. Super easy inexpensive option. Just remember to have at least 1 fire alarm that’s also a for carbon dioxide or to buy separate plug-in carbon dioxide alarms because these are only for smoke.

Ordered two 3 packs. One would not stop beeping, defective.
