I’d fill my one liter stainless steel water bottle with lake water. Pop in one tab. Agitate/shake periodically while waiting 30 mins. Water smelled fresh (kinda like a faint pool water smell). Drank it. Had several liters over the weekend camping trips. No issues. A great backup to have in your backpack.

If you travel, these little things are a must to have on hand!
I brought these when I traveled out of the country. I was very happy with them and they are easy to use. I had a 64 ounce insulated water jug and they fit in its side pouch wonderfully! They are perfectly sized to carry along and after 30 minutes it was just like drinking water what I could get from my tap at home. Would buy again, in fact I still keep some in my jugs side pouch.
