I will start off by saying, I am not normally a fan of "bars.." but like eveyone day, like the convience of being able to have a balanced snack on the go, even if I'm just at home all day. They are on the pricer end of bars, but they are "meat/protein," bars, high quality, with some vegetables in there if I remember correctly. I'm also not a huge fan of eating meats, but these seem to be high quality and of a good source, and I feel they cut my hunger. What I like about these, too, is that they seem to digest well, and are soft, to chew, not tough, like jerky. If I had one critiscism is that these meat bars are a little on the sweet side for me, in terms of meat. I don't buy sweet and sour dinners, etc. not a fan of "sweet," with my food, unless maybe it's sweet and hot like Thai food. My husband loves these for work, keeping his energy going, and the lamb ones are actually my personal favorite, but in second place, I get the turkey for variety. They seem to be smaller, weight less than other meat bars, but satisfy just as much. For me they are worth the money, because my health is worth it.

As others have said, yes this is expensive. I am actually a sheep farmer myself- so I do know something about lamb. I have tried it in every form throughout the world, including in Iceland and China. I look for lamb on the menu. I try to support the sheep industry, so when I wanted a protein snack, and my choices were beef or lamb, I chose this product, though it was more expensive. Aside from price, this product meets the requirements: 1) not refrigerated, 2) convenient, 3) tasty. As far as size and taste, it was packaged well, I would say each package has the contents of maybe half a lambburger. If you are voraciously hungry, find something else. Definitely tasty. As to price, you get what you pay for. Wholesome ingredients, packaged for ultimate convenience cost more money. If you are looking for "maximum amount of protein I can get for a dollar" buy some Slim Jims (rejected beef parts, chemicals, etc). Or for a healthier option, just eat some mixed nuts. I will update the review if I buy again, I'm just getting started, my initial impression is favorable.

The flavor of these are really good, but the price per oz is what keeps me from giving it five stars. The Tanka Bar for example is around $1.74 per bar vs Wild Zora at $2.54 per bar. Each individual package is only 1 oz so you almost need two to feel satisfied. These are a bit too expensive for me to justify buying on a regular basis, but they do make a nice treat on camping trips. Hopefully one day they can figure out how to get the price down a bit so I can justify more regular purchases.

What I had assumed to be another jerky bar, but with what we first worlders would call a gamey taste actually exceeded my expectations and changed my perceptions of the product. The mutton itself is not hard, like you would find in some other jerky bars, but soft and pliable. But its not completely mush, as the addition of the dried fruit in the mix gives it some body and chew. Overall the texture has two distinct feels, and is pleasing to the palate. The lamb is distinctly lamb, but it does not have an overt gamy taste, yet is distinct from other beef based bars. The most objectionable part of the bar is the Rosemary. Not as a flavoring, of course, as the rosemary offers a very floral pop in comparison to the heaviness of the other ingredients. No, the objection comes to the size of the spice, where you may be digging a chunk of conifer out of your molars after you have devoured the bar. And although the portion size may seem small, after consumption the hearty nature of the ingredients is actually quite satisfying. With the miniscule weight involved, this is a treat I would gladly take hiking.

I was braced for a weird taste. Instead I was very pleasantly surprised. They're tender and juicy and taste fantastic. These aren't huge but they're definitely decent for the price. And they have such clean ingredients. SO hard to find. And super low salt compared to most meat snacks, as well. One beef stick normally has close to twice as much sodium as this whole package does. That's impressive. Plus they're super convenient to have on hand or take on the run. These have saved me from blood-sugar crashes many times. You feel like you've had something more than just a handful of crackers or other carbs that spike blood sugar and then bring you down. Love them! Subscribed and am trying their other products now.
