Quality product that really works!
I have been using this appliance for just about a week now…..This has to be far & away the best appliance I have EVER purchased! i no longer have food scraps in my kitchen garbage bin. No more smells or bugs!It makes a nice compost pile ready for planting. I can’t wait to see how my plants react to this nice organic mix. This appliance is easy to use and hardly takes any time.

I love 💕 it so much!
I have my machine operating 1 to 2 times daily for a household of 2 people. It is perfect for our needs. It works fast and is very easy to clean. I just leave the bucket in the sink with some water and stuff comes off easily after soaking. No bad smells. I put the resulting dehydrated mixture in the food processor for a finer chop, collect it in a covered bucket on my counter (again, no smell because now it is dehydrated), then I spread it in my garden soil when the bucket is full. I sure hope it is keeping the worms happy! I also bought a second bucket and matching cover, so I always have a bucket to use when one batch is processing in the machine.I did decide to rotate the machine 90 degrees so the air exiting faces out towards the kitchen, once I saw some condensation occurring on an adjacent piece of furniture. This occurred because the air exiting the machine is warm and moist. Once I turned the machine, there was no problem whatsoever. Also, I have not seen any problems with what was spread into the garden soil attracting any animals like squirrels, rats, bear etc. so far after one and 1/2 months of use.I highly recommend this machine, especially if you want to minimize what goes to the landfill or through your garbage disposal. I feel like I have better control over recycling my vegetable food waste. It says you can put meat and cheese into the machine, but I don’t do that.Hope you consider buying one of the machines, you won’t regret it. There is excellent customer service and a Facebook group for the machine as well. I find the company keeps up with all questions being asked in a very timely and thorough manner.

Just what I was looking for
I've had a large compost bin in the yard but I always have kept a bowl to collect scraps and parings etc. and then when it was full carry it outside. When I saw this I couldn't resist, I absolutely love this, fits on my kitchen counter, makes a small ground compost. I store it in a dog food container, it will be full by late spring and ready to start the garden!

Great machine
Works well. Particularly li8ke the lid. Very easy to open and close, and the see through feature is great. Allowing you to see that it has started, and you can monitor progress.

trowel & trash bags?
I have run this once so far and really like it as do many of these other reviewers. I love the see-through, glass lid! it comes with a garden trowel and 1.6 compostable trash bags. There's no suggestion or instruction of what to do with these. Am I supposed to spread the ground up matter in my garden with the trowel? or am I supposed to put the ground up matter in the trash bag and then put it in.... where? if I put it in the compost, why should I put it in a trash bag? I'd appreciate your thoughts!

This appliance is a workhorse
I do not like throwing away vegetable scraps and typically have a compost pile outside. However, there are a lot of mice where I live and I didn't want to attract them so to try this after reading positive reviews. I've had this for 10 months now and use it daily, sometimes up to 3 times a day.The only issue I have found is that it doesn't do well with food scraps that are very wet like pineapple skins, the machine will run for a long time trying to process. It is easy to clean, especially if the contents are on the drier side.It has been a long time since I've been so pleased with a new appliance.

Pros and cons compared to our other composter
This is our second composter like this so I actually have something to compare it to! Some of the things I like about this that are comparable to our other unit:-As others have said, this makes pre-compost and it's really just drying out and grinding up scraps, they aren't actually breaking down. But that's fine by me as they can still then go into our outdoor compost bin, or really they an go out into the garden and do just fine and will break down eventually.-It's pretty quiet, and the bin holds a decent amount of food scraps (especially since I wouldn't want to leave food scraps in there for too long until I ran it and just let them rot and stink).Pros compared to our other composter:-I really like that this powers on and off with a button and isn't just automatically on when plugged in.-I love the clear top so that I can see how full it is, what's in there, and how it's progressing when running.-The fact that the lid comes off entirely instead of just hinging open makes it easy to clean and the lid can be totally out of the way.-The shape of the "blade" inside for grinding up scraps is also great as we have run this multiple times now and not had any issues with jamming, or anything like that. Whereas we have had some jamming issues with our other one as the fixed internal blade has more jagged points that get dry scraps wedged and stuck.Cons compared to our other composter:-Even though this does have a filter, I will say that it also seems to not contain the stink for particularly odorous scraps as well as our other composter, so I wish that was a bit better. But I think if need be we could plug this in out in the garage.-It doesn't seem to have nearly as long of a "drying" stage such that I think it doesn't handle wetter food scraps quite as well as our other composter. If I know we're tossing something kinda juicy in there I've actually just stopped it and re-run the drying stage a second time and that did the trick. So still functional, but more annoying as you have to pay attention to that if you're putting wetter food in there.Overall, this is a great little unit. A good way to get rid of food scraps in a way that makes them easier to mix into soil and not just rotting, stinky, sludge.
