On my second bottle
I’ve been trying to swap out my products for a healthier lifestyle and came across this shaving soap. It works well, but you have to really shake the tube before each use or else it will be too runny. It’s already a very runny product. The cooler temperatures of winter seemed to help it firm up. Be sure you’re fully closing the lid each time to avoid any leaking. It lathers up nicely and allows the razor to glide smoothly. No residue is caught in the razor. There is a natural scent to the soap when you use it, but it doesn’t stick with you once rinsed off with water.

Extremely disappointed and no returns allowed
I have very sensitive skin, so finding something to shave comfortably with is never easy for me, but I am always looking for something new. After reading all the good reviews of this product, I ordered it with high expectations. But I’ve only shaved for the first time this morning since receiving this last week, and it was BRUTAL.My razor pulled my hair in a painful way and I was not able to get a close shave like I need without passing over multiple times, leading to me having an embarrassingly red face as I prepare to go to work this morning. Also, the consistency is basically that of a slightly thinner maple syrup: just not good for shaving, not for me anyway. And it’s supposed to be scent-free, but this is not the case. The sticky, syrupy soap has a distinct odor, and it is not good. Finally, the syrupy soap just got everywhere all over my bathroom sink, making a ridiculous sticky mess everywhere that required much clean up my once I had finished shaving, painfully. Just an overall very unpleasant shaving experience. But the real kicker is this: the shave soap is “not returnable” even though it is not listed in the seller’s list of “unreturnable” items anywhere! So I am stuck with this bad (at least bad for me) product and have no ability to get my money back. This kind of policy is really just absurd in this age of digital commerce. It wasn’t expensive, but that isn’t the point: if your customers genuinely dislike your product, online merchants have a responsibility to make it right and not stick their customers with products they greatly dislike. So beware: returning items and getting refunded by this seller is basically impossible, even when the particular item you buy is distinctly NOT on their ridiculous list of “nonreturnable items.”What is this seller thinking? Not the way you cultivate brand loyalty by sticking customers with items that do not at all work for them and that actually was painful to use. Very few merchants on Amazon are so short-sighted as to refuse returns and refunds for their products: but this outfit is apparently a very unfortunate exception.

Soap is great; need a different container
Dr. Bronner's Lavender Shaving Soap works well, smells wonderful, and a little goes a long way. I do wish it came in a pump rather than a tube. Even flipping it upside down before use, some of the soap sits inside the top (lid) and spills out and makes a mess.

Love it! But runny
I love that this brand offers an organic alternative to shaving cream! Just be warned that this stuff is very much a liquid. When I first used it, it came pouring out. I have to be careful when using it so that it doesn't spill. I tried shaking it to see if the product had just separated in the bottle (I was expecting a creamier consistency). This did not help. I still like it, but be warned to use carefully.
