Excellent mid-range portable speaker option!
ZEALOT comes out again with another great speaker in what I would call the mid-range category. This one the S56 is sort of the little brother to the S57.They're sort of designed differently with this speaker the S56 having the exposed speakers on the ends.It provides a different type of sound experience which is more omnidirectional where the S57 is more unidirectional.I'm unsure of the speaker ratings on this unit because they are not published just a generic 40-watt output listing.Quality:The speaker is designed with a hard plastic shell. It's not made to withstand any sort of drops, but it is waterproof with an IP67 Rating. this makes this speaker perfect for around the pool, at the beach, camping, etc.Portability:This speaker is super lightweight. You can hold the entire thing in your hand like a small football.Easy to put in a beach or camping bag or anywhere else on the go. It doesn't include any sort of handle or strap but it's small enough I don't think that causes any issues.Sound Quality :I'm impressed with the quality of the highs and lows. This is a smaller with what I believe are (2) 20-watt speakers so you need to keep expectations in line with what this was designed for. If you're looking for a large party thumping speaker this is obviously not ideal for you, you would want something bigger. But as a smaller speaker to take on the go for other events it works perfectly. There is a button on the unit to switch modes if you prefer less/more bass, more vocals, higher treble, etc.Battery Life:The battery on this is rated for 20 Hours of playtime. That is one area I have not thoroughly tested as I typically charge it after each use. From previous Zealot speakers I have owned they are pretty accurate with their battery life claims, and depending on how loud you have it you could expect more or less play time.Connections:This speaker comes equipped to handle Bluetooth 5.2.Bluetooth 5.2 has a range of approximately 200 meters, and utilizes Enhanced Attribute Protocol (EATT).This helps to increase stability when using your devices. 5.2 also has a new feature named “Low Energy (LE) Audio.” This feature enables high-quality and low-power audio codecs to gain maximum Bluetooth optimization. 5.3 is still fairly new and I'd hope to see it in a future release or update of this product. It also has options to connect via Aux or a TF Card if your situation works better with those options. This speaker like many others can be daisy chained is desired.I primarily used blue-tooth from my phone in testing and it connected quickly and without any issues on the first try.Overall Conclusion:This is a very solid speaker with a lot going for it.+Great sound quality of high's and low's+Lightweight & Portable+Easy to connect+High quality build from Zealot, should withstand some abuse traveling with the shell, etc.+Great battery sizeMy only thoughts when looking to buy this speaker is that the S57 is so close in price. The two speakers are less than $20 apart right now and the performance of the S57 far outweighs that price difference. If comparing the two speakers head to head if you were deciding between the two of them it should probably come down to that the S56 offers more mobility while the S57 offers more performance. If you can afford it, then buy both so you can pick and choose what fits your needs each day!

Great Everyday Speaker for the Outdoors, but Lacks in Bass and Intimate Sound Quality
If you’re looking for a speaker to take outside to the park or on a hike without worrying about ruining it, this is the one! It’s a decent size, but easily portable and simple to connect via Bluetooth. The battery has lasted so far without needing a charge, though I’ve only used the speaker in short spurts, not for an extended period.I’ve listened to several different genres of music on this speaker. While the bass frequency isn’t super high quality, the overall sound can get pretty loud. However, it definitely lacks in more intimate non-bass heavy music like jazz, folk, etc.The sound quality is decent, and it has an "EQ" button that changes the music to three different EQ mixes. I like the third (red) one the most. It doesn’t compare to the big brands like Bose or Harman Kardon, but neither does the price! That’s why I think this is a great everyday speaker to take along without worrying about it getting beat up. I’ll keep my expensive speakers at home!

Great Sound, Solid Battery Life, and Easy to Use
This Bluetooth speaker has really exceeded my expectations. The sound quality is surprisingly good for its size, with a nice amount of bass without sounding muffled. Setup was simple, and it pairs instantly with my phone every time. I’ve taken it on a few trips, and the battery lasts through a full day of playing music, which has been a big plus. It’s also pretty rugged—I’ve used it outside, and it holds up well even in less-than-ideal weather. The design is compact, so it’s easy to toss in a bag, but it still feels solid. Overall, it’s been a great buy, and I’d recommend it to anyone needing a reliable speaker on the go.

A+ on the speaker, but it needs a case or carry strap.
Here are the best features of this speaker:The equalizer. This is something that sets it apart from other similar speakers. You can get really good bass using it, and it projects (I've had it in the middle of six pickleball courts, and the music can be heard across all of them).Battery Life (most speakers this size don't have batteries with this capacity and longevity)Clear musicWaterproof (can be used outdoors without fear a few raindrops will damage it)What it lacks:A carry case or a carry strap. This is a speaker I'd love to take with me, but I'm concerned about damage if I tuck it into a backpack or just carry it loose. Even a silicone cover or carry case would work, but I've not been able to find either a cover or a carry case that would fit it well.

Larger Than I Thought
This speaker is bigger and heavier than I expected, it seems well made and heavy-duty which is what I need for my application. It fills my barn with quality sound, I have used it with my phone streaming music as well as a TF card and both sound great. You can change the equalizer from normal (which I mostly use) to voice (if you're listening to podcasts or interviews) or bass boost which is really deep.I did not see this anywhere in the included ligature but if you want to disable the LED light show and have the speaker operate without any lights, long press the pairing button to turn them off. This allows you to use the speaker without the colorful lighting effects.

Works as advertised - even in harsh weather
I bought this as a replacement speaker for our Outdoor Kitchen (located in the Phoenix, AZ Metro Area). Temperatures range up to 125° under the cover during the summer months and down into the upper 20°'s in the winter. The kitchen is also subject to 'Monsoon' type weather (rain/humidity/wind). This speaker has held up well with zero issues. It worked right out of the box with easy pairing. The sound is full and covers our entire backyard (10,000 SQ FT) with ease. I recommend this speaker!
