cool shoes, a little narrow
great shoes, the toe side is a little narrow, so try to get bigger than street size, dont go down.

New 2026 model is more comfortable than Tarantulace
The new 2026 model (the grey one, not the older blue one) has more space in the toebox and is more comfortable than Tarantulace, while having higher quality construction (Made in Romania not China). Now I think this new Helix is going to out compete the Tarantulace for the best beginner/intermediate shoe that is still comfortable for all day at the gym.

Great shoe for large feet.
I have very large feet (size 15 US) and tried the Mad Rock Men's Flash 2.0 Climbing Shoe,Orange/Black,15 D US but those fit way to tight to actually wear. I returned them and got these ones instead and the fit is so much better. The fit is still a little tight, but not horribly so like the Mad Rocks. I think over time these will be a great pair and will stretch to fit my foot like a nice glove. There aren't many options for climbing shoes for people with big feet so I'm glad to have found a pair I can work with.

Very Comfortable!
The most comfortable shoe I've had yet! Great for long sessions. I love the fabric lining in the heel, it's a really great feature that adds so much comfort. I bought them true to my sneaker size and they were comfortably tight at first and after breaking in maybe gained a half size. Now they are gently snug on my toes and I can keep them on in between climbs if I want to, without feeling loose when climbing. The sole lasted 3 months before getting to the rand, which has been average for me given my weight (190lbs) and frequency (2-3 times a week, 8-10 hrs total). I'll save them for a resole at this point because I really like the feel of these. The size of the Helix feels the same as La Sportiva's Finale, but is quite different from my Scarpa Vapor V's. The labels say they are the same size but the Helix is about a half centimeter longer than the Vapor V's. I use the Helix for the bulk of my climbing but switch to the tighter Vapor V's when footwork really counts.Only downside to the Helix has been my feet getting stained blue after long sweaty sessions in the first 2 months. I'd buy these again.Update: I snagged another pair of these on sale, I love them that much. I have a pair of Scarpa Force V's I've been trying lately, they're good but I much prefer the lacing of the Helix for the glove like fit over the Force V's velcro straps.Update 2:2 years later, both pairs still holding up great. One pair has been resoled twice and the other once.

Great quality and performance. Very happy customer
I had tried these on in person, so I knew what fit to expect. I am typically a size 10.5 M US, and the 43.5 EU/10.3 M US size fit perfectly for me. Very snug, but not uncomfortably so. I love the blue suede outer and the even comfort and security of the lace up closure. The rubber is grippy (way better than your average rentals) and the sole has a slight edge to help you maintain your footing on chippy holds and narrow ledges. For a beginner rock climber like myself, I am very satisfied with the quality, price, and performance of this shoe as I learn the sport.

Good shoe, slighlty smaller than other scarpa models
I ordered these online without trying them on because it was a good sale. I tried on a different scarpa model at my local REI and thought the 44 fit perfectly, this came in just slightly smaller than the other model which were velcro close instead of the lace up. I still think they are excellent shoes and have started to brake in and become more comfortable after about 5 wears. They are comfortable enough to wear for several climbs in a row and then my feet need a break. Great beginner shoe (myself) since the sole is solid rubber and allows for easier support during edging.

Beware of ordering too small
I'm a climbing noob that just joined the gym. I bought these to save a few dollars over what they sell there, which is retail price, and less of a selection. In normal shoes, I wear size 11-11.5. Wearing size 11.5 allows me to stretch my toes out, which allows my foot to be quite comfortable. My foot is exactly 11" long and on the wider side. For these, I went with 10.5. When I tried them on, my foot were curled up into a fist. Being a noob, I understand that the shoes are supposed to be tight. So I decided to give them a try. After using them, I was unable to return them, thus committed. I wore them another 6-8 times. I'm developing callouses on each one of my first toe knuckles in both feet. But this is a bit overboard. It is to the point where after 30 minutes of climbing, it feels like somebody is hitting my big toe with a hammer ever time that I put weight on it. The pain takes away enjoyment of my visit. It's overboard. I can't imagine having slightly loose shoes could be anywhere as bad as this pain I feel each time I use these shoes, not to mention the long term damage to your foot health that can happen from having your feet contorted.I would have been happier with size 11.5. Other than that, the shoes are decent for my purposes.

Poor quality
Wore down after only a couple months of climbing. 3 days a week doing 3-4hr sessions. The tips are already exposing the leather underneath. Poor quality rubber. V7 climber. Would not recommend.
