FLISSA 9 Inch D2 Steel Hunting Knife G10 Handle Leather Sheath

If you want a functional and clean looking knife that will last a long time, this is a great buy. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. It has a nice weight and feel in the hand. I ordered the G10 scales, they feel kinda slick. I wrapped it with athletic tape for a non slip grip. It arrived razor sharp. I love the scandi grind, will make it easy to maintain the edge. I really like the size and blade thickness. The sheath is basic and functional and clean looking. No extras that you don't need. I my opinion it just goes to show that when you by brand name, sometimes your paying for the name, not necessarily the quality. This knife is better than alot of name brands that you have to pay $100 to $200 or more for.

Hands down an excellent knife for the money and a really solid knife overall. Zero-grind / Scandinavian grind, chunky piece of D2, comfortable handle scales for.my XL size.glove hands. My knife did come with a small amount of oxidization on the cutting edge but, a little clean up and use took care of that. The sheath isn't premium leather but it will still give you good longevity. This knife is a steal for the budget bushcrafter. A really excellent knife for less than $20 at the time of this review.

I like the saber grind and the blades is thick and sturdy. Mine came razor sharp, I got the G10 scales. It’s like the little brother of the Ka-Bar BK 2 and less than 1/4 of the price of the BK 16 Excellent quality, especially for $20 Even the sheath is nice. This knife is more heavy duty than the Mora and has a full tang. Aside from the lanyard hole being a little small, I can’t find anything that I don’t like about it. It’s one of those rare items where you get more than you pay for, I have a lot of quality knives, this is one I recommend to my friends, a few have bought it and are also very happy with the quality and price. You won’t be disappointed.

I've had this knife for about half a week now. Full disclaimer I have not used this knife extensively and put it through its paces, but you collect knives long enough and you know whether or not they'll work for you and what their best use case is. The bad: The tip of the knife is atrociously uneven. The worst I've ever seen and I expect it to take some work to correct. I have a 150 grit diamond stone that should be up to the task. The micarta handles do look worn with white spots around the edges, but who cares? If you want better fit and finish then go spend twice the money for it somewhere else. The lanyard holes aren't sanded around the edges of the openings so they can feel a bit unpleasent, especially the weird top lanyard hole that's next to your thumb a lot of the time. One of the scales is maybe around 1/4mm off so in some spots you can notice the tang of the knife if you feel it with your nail, but I can't notice it at all in regular use. The handle ergos are basic and feel comfortable. It's a very stout knife blade and I do wish the handle was a littler bigger/wider. I'm not sure about the heat treat, this is my first knife in D2 but from my understanding D2's best quality is edge retention and it's biggest problem is chipping, so in my mind a softer heat treat would help it be a bit tougher and still have good edge retention anyway. I love collecting knives and have never seen a value as good as this. The materials are great and it IS good enough that a beginner can take it out of the box and go straight to work, but it does make for a perfect project knife. I'm going to put in G10 handle liners, smooth down any sharp corners and put a convex edge on it. The sheath functions great and I have absolutely no complaints about it. The back of the belt loop is raw leather so I applied some stropping compound so I can maintain the knife anywhere. This is effectively going to replace my Garberg. It's blade is more stout, has better handle materials, better sheath and some people may even prefer D2 over 1095/14c28n depending on the experience and use case. It's also way easier to replace. If I go saltwater fishing I'd much rather have to replace a $25 knife than an $80 knife, or whatever the Garberg goes for now. I never write reviews but this thing gives me the fizz

It’s close to the same size as a TOPs BOB knife, but it feels more comfortable in my hands. I’ve never found the BOB knife to be all that comfortable to use, the handles are too blocky for my liking. I wasn’t expecting much, but the glowing reviews did make me curious as to how good of a buy this is. I can’t say for certain that the steel is D2, but if it isn’t, the steel still feels close to it. The handle is comfortable and the blade I got has no imperfections that I can see. It’s a knife with a blade under 5 inches that’s built to be put through work, if it breaks then you’re out $20. It feels better than the Off Grid crap that you can find, you know the moderately priced, overbuilt knives with mediocre blades? Had a D2 knife of theirs roll during feather sticking. The wood should fear the knife, not the other way around unless it’s knotty. It also comes with one of the best 90 degrees spines I’ve ever seen, it makes ferro rods rain fire. I upgraded the sheath with a different leather sheath that I had that was too small for a knife that I purchased it for. The standard one it came with is well built, but I think it’s made with scrap leather and it looks kinda cheap, but for $20 what more can you expect? This budget knife is a steal, I’d take this over a Mora any day.

I've been using D2 steel knives for over ten years. For the price-to-performance ratio, nothing else comes close. It holds an edge longer than most stainless options and takes a good edge when you do sharpen it. The only trade-off is that D2 can rust if you leave it wet, so keep it dry and give it a light oil once in a while. This FLISSA 9-inch came sharp out of the box. The Micarta handle is comfortable in hand — not too slick, good grip even when your hands aren't clean. The shape fills the palm well and there are no hot spots during extended use. The leather sheath is a nice inclusion at this price point. It holds the knife securely and the snap retention works without being difficult to draw from. For the money this is an absurd amount of knife. The fit and finish is clean, blade centering is good, and the full tang construction feels solid. I've handled knives at two and three times this price that didn't feel as good in the hand. If you're looking for a fixed blade for camp, bushcraft, or general outdoor use and you don't want to spend a fortune, this is it. Just remember D2 is a tool steel, not stainless — take care of it and it'll take care of you.

This Flissa hunting knife is a relatively small knife with 4.25" D2 steel blade, it features a scandi grind preferred for Bushcraft work. The knife is very well made considering its modest price, the blade is chunky with a 3.8mm thick full tang blade. The handle has tough G-10 scales with two lanyard holes. A leather sheath with retaining strap and press stud closure is provided for sure carry. This is a really great mini-survival knife as I can not see this blade failing even under hard use, its a sharpened pry bar. My knife came out the box shaving sharp, and to keep it that way I would suggest a fine ceramic rod for honing. I have big hands and find the handle comfortable with no obvious hot spots. Be aware that D2 is stain resistant but not a Stainless Steel so clean regularly with a drop of oil.

The pros about this knife, it feels very sturdy and has some weight to it, also it fits very comfortably in the hand. The sheath is well made and holds the knife perfectly.

Great quality knife. Hard to find better value anywhere. Very sharp and even grind. Micarta handle is well finished and the material looks decent. Some complain of the variation in colour- some parts are lighter or darker- but I like that look. The sheath is ok. Not quite the quality of the knife but for $20 overall, it’s actually good. Very Impressive!
