The BEST! A LOT of research prior to purchase and no disappointments
For those who care to read this review - this is the dehydrator you are looking for if you plan to keep it for many years to come. Here are some of the reasons why:1. We researched. A Lot. We currently freezedry food from our garden, but have been lacking that dehydrator capability for raisins, jerky, etc. We compared dozens of models in "suitable" price range - $100-400 here, on Amazon and Septree model stacked quite high on the list.2. The programming/temperature read is in somewhat odd place to be able to see and utilize if dehydrator is placed higher than chest level. But there is a reason for it - that whole back sections can unclip for easy maintenance of actual electrical components. It's very easy to service if something goes wrong. Many models are built with parts within units and some serious disassembly is required to fix them (motor, heating element, etc). This model, however, has clips on each side to remove it. That means that Septree can send a whole back part to their customer with easy swap - my cat can do it. Hope that makes sense.3. The unit performs really well. Yes, it does require patience and time to dry organic matter. We see a lot of comments from people disappointed with performance and how they want almost instantly the results. Just a reminder for such folks - even freezedrying requires time and at times will take 3 days to dehydrate "watery" fruits as well. With this unit - we have made outstanding seedless raisins from our mini-orchard (30 plants). Soon we plan to cure some lamb and run a portion of it to make jerky.4. The unit has "rails" at the bottom (outside). It helps to keep the dehydrator off the surface and we can tell that the unit was thoroughly thought through when designed.5. 1k watts of energy use means a typical residential outlet. There is no power surge or anything to be concerned safety-wise. However, We keep our unit about 6 inches away from the drywall (in our garage) and it vents out from the front grill of the door. No access of heat observed at the bottom or sides or back during operation. Functions very well. Motor noise is very quite - pleasant humming.6. CUSTOMER SUPPORT! We had to contact Septree customer support due to some issues with rails that support the trays. They were very prompt in their communication and assured (professionally) of being aware of our concerns. Almost instantly new shipment was sent from China with a tracking number. Perhaps 4 days maximum - we received a perfectly-packaged box with "we are very sorry for our mistake" note. New parts fit perfectly and we were good to go.7. We plan to keep this machine for as long as it lasts. Septree appears to care about their brand and supporting their customers. We can tell - they want us to be happy with their product. And our experience with them has been outstanding.8. It's built like a TANK. That semi-industrial (utility) look. We get a lot of compliments.HIGHLY RECOMMEND! A+

Quality through and through...
I've had multiple food dehydrators over the years but this one is the best by far. Super quiet, incredibly easy to clean and does a fantastic job with fruit and meat. I worked it hard the first week I got it by drying multiple batches of jerky and fruit and it ran like a top. The volume I'm now able to process saves me a ton of time and the trays are of great quality and super easy to clean. Because the case is all stainless, the top and sides do get a bit warm to the touch so caution is advised around children, kitchen cabinets, etc. Oh yeah, and if the fan or heating element ever go belly up, they are easy to access and replace. All in all a fantastic unit that will likely last a lifetime.

I'm just getting started but this is an impressive dehydrator
We really like apple chips and I wanted something large enough that we wouldn't need to do too many batches. (We have 4 very productive apple trees and can only feed so many to the horses.) I should start by saying 99% of this thing is stainless steel and seems to be very well built with a quality feel to it. It arrived in perfect condition for such a large and heavy box. The dehydrator has 10 trays that are 15" x15" and comes with 2 non-stick liners. We've make 3 batches of apple slices so far and they have turned out great. They are breakable crisp after about 7 hours at 160-165 F on the display which seems high but they didn't seem to be drying fast enough at the normal 140 F. I have filled every tray completely full and the rear of the trays do get hotter which does dry them a little faster. I generally rotate them 180 after 5 hours which gives me a chance to get some hot apple chips in the process. One last note: The electronics are located above the heating element section and are not well insulated from the heater so they do get hot which makes me a little concerned how this might impact the longevity, however it does look easy to service if needed. With all of that said, this dehydrator is impressive and I would buy it again. We really like apple chips and I wanted something large enough that we wouldn't need to do too many batches. We ended up finding it easiest to just set the temp to 165F and the timer to 10 hrs and to not worry about rotating trays. They all come out crisp and the effort is minimal. The chips continue to crisp up when cooling. Put them in the pantry in a couple of quart freezer bags and you've got snacks for the week.

Easy cleaning with the back fan coming off.
I have nothing to say against this particular food dehydrator. It has met all my needs. It is heavy, but when you snap off the rear motor and fan, it is doable to move it around. The trays come out easily and can be washed. The fact that it’s stainless steel Makes it easy to clean. It has 10 trays, so one can dehydrate a nice amount of fruit or vegetable at the same time. The timer has worked very well for me and setting up the temperature has been easy as well. It is easy to clean because you can take the motor/fan part off . It has a three-year warranty on it which is better than most. I’m very happy with the food dehydrator. Oh also, it is very quiet.

Solid product. Price change upsetting (2 days after purchase)
Hi,The Septree dehydrator is very well made and easy to clean. The temperature seems to be very accurate when testing. The structure is very durable and easy to use.The negative part, unrelated to the product, is that two or three days after purchasing—the price went down. I feel a bit slanted by this because it was so soon after purchasing that the price dropped. I’d appreciate if Septree would make this right.
