Character Zhu Zhu Pets Pizza Shop

This is so much fun. The little pizza oven lights up when ‘cooking’ and then sends the little pizza box down the conveyor to the waiting car for the hamster to drive away with. Make sure you push the track into the shop part properly - we spent a few frustrating minutes wondering why the conveyor had stopped working until we realised it has to be pushed right in to connect the cogs properly. Also, don’t try to put more than one pizza in at once as they get jammed (another few frustrating minutes spent trying to get them unstuck). Overall though, this is highly amusing for my daughter and she is very happy with it. The packaging was a little odd (reused frozen chips box!). Whilst I’m all in favour of reusing materials, this box was not really big enough. I had to cut the product box out of the outer box as it was completely jammed in!

my 5 and 8 year old girls like this toy and have played with it a lot.The only slight issue is that you need to have a zhu zhu hamster at the gate with a fair amount of battery power in to make the pizza move along the conveyor belt, but once the girls knew that it wasn't a problem.They really love the pizza delivery car that comes with this set and it moves really well on our wooden floor.I would recommend this toy for both girls and boys.

This was bought for our daugther's 6th birthday. When it first arrived, we found that the conveyer belt dit not work, but arranged a replacement through Amazon's online request and the new one arrived the day after and worked perfectly. I do think it is overpriced for what it is, but she has had many hours of fun and would recommend this product.

5 minute wonder but daughter over the moon when got it at Christmas! As all Zhu zhu pets, it"s probably the most expensive bit of plastic in the world but the most enjoyable for a few minutes.

They fail to mention that this is not the English version and the Box and instructions contain NO English at all!Not good!

If your children already own any Zhu Zhu pet accessories (the furry little motorised hamsters previously called go go pets and made by Character Options), then your expectations will probably already be set to "low" as far as they are concerned, but you'll know that bad points notwithstanding, they are a winner with children. This pizza set is the exception that proves the rule - it's not actually too bad, on the scale of overpriced Zhu Zhu sets.The pizza shop is pretty well as pictured - though like all these sets it doesn't actually come with a hamster, but it does come with a rather fancy blue pizza delivery motor delivery vehicle (not pictured) and 5 mini plastic pizzas. The two LR4 batteries required to run the set - they light up the pizza oven- are included. There's a bit of minimal set up when you get it out of the box - the tunnel in front of the parlour has to be slotted onto the front of the shop and the pizza sign put on top. To give you some idea of size the actual shop itself is about 20cm long and 18cm high. The set could be used as a stand alone item but is, clearly going to be more fun if incorporated into a run of hamster track and tunnels.In play it's quite good fun - even if the idea of pizzas being delivered by hamsters seems a bit strange to an adult, my kids, aged 5 and 8 seem to love it, it's probably their favourite part of their track and was bought new to go with various pieces picked up second hand. When a hamster goes into the tunnel, a little track triggers them to make a noise, depending on which hamster it is, from a "go!" to cheesy Italian music. The hamsters will then go further on along the track and power a conveyor belt which comes out of the pizza oven and will deliver pizzas into the delivery motorbike side car, assuming the child has put the pizzas into the oven via a slot at the back before play. When the child turns a lever the hamster will go on to get into the motorbike and "deliver" the pizzas around the room. This really is as amusing as it sounds.Though the set isn't of the best construction - it's hard to slot together and the stickers are pretty shabby quality (this is zhu zhu after all), overall it works well and there's no denying its play value. The hamsters don't seem to get stuck in the set too often and more often than not everything works as intended, though we have had a pizza blockage before now, and sometimes the delivery boy will fail to start the bike - which is hamster powered. Yes, the plastic is of a quality you'd expect to find being used to package mushrooms, and you can't help but feel that the designers wanted to torture parents who will find they have to put the set together as there's no way a child could, but it's still a good toy.Overall I, or more importantly my children, would recommend this set for any zhu zhu fan.
