I dont normally do reviews - good or bad - but, I bought this for my 12yr old boy's birthday and he loved it so much that he insisted I write a review. For the first flight, I took him to an empty gym to avoid issues with wind. I lost count of how many times that little plane slammed into concrete walls and nose dived into the hard gym floor. I was very impressed how little damage it took! We, of course, destroyed 1 of the 3 included propellers but the broken and taped propeller kept working just fine. The next day he flew it around the yard getting the hang of it and by day 3 he was practicing take offs, landings, touch-n-goes, and low slow fly-bys. The selectable gyro stabilization in this plane makes it a great entry into rc airplanes for any age. It's tough and inexpensive enough to get you through the learning curve and sturdy enough to be super fun after mastering the controls. Highly recommended!

This plane is awesome for learning how to fly. I bought an FMS PA-18 1300mm before this and crashed it a few times, this thing is WAY easier to fly. I have no bad things to say about it. Well, one…you can’t fly it with the gyro turned off it’s nearly impossible, assuming if you’re more seasoned you could make it work but if you turn the stabilizer off it’s very very touchy. Pretty sure each battery lasts about 15 minutes, it flies forever.

I have flown numerous types of rc aircraft over the years. The Sport Cub 500 is an excelent aircraft and setup more generally. Easy and enjoyable to fly.

great little park flyer for kids, VERY durable. Plenty fast when needed and can fly at slower pace without troubles. The gyro has decent control help for new pilots on beginner mode, Plane will fly best on intermediate though. The controls are very sluggish and ineffective without the gyro driving them, so full pilot control is very very flaky. It's nearly impossible to keep in the air on full pilot mode, and I've flown RC for 12 years. Overall for the money this is a steal, if want fun park flyer the whole family can fly from the youngsters to the the adults it's also a steal, if you're thinking it'll replace a "real" RC 4ch trainer plane I'd say not even close. The ailerons are nearly useless in full control as they have very little throw and are very slow covering even their limited travel.

Seems like a good plane. I haven’t got a chance to fly it yet. It’s been cold and windy but when I do, I can write a better review thank you.

The plane I received was defective. Went back and forth with RCSHobby for weeks and weeks with troubleshooting. The plane would pair with the controller as evidenced by beeping on controller and solid LED light on plane. The plane propeller would not spin. The Flight controls would not respond. RCSHobby offered many troubleshooting tips. Unfortunately none helped. They ultimately repeated troubleshooting instructions which did not help. Ultimately I sent back plane for a refund. The experience was very frustrating. It’s like they had representatives trying to outlast me

I literally just received it and the tail was slight cracked and I guess it was enough to bend the tail rudder shaft in enough go it would not work. Don't know if it happened in transit or if it was dropped while packaging since the shipping and product boxes were fine. That said I did power it on to try the operation and it was pretty good out the box, everything worked great it had lots of power for the weight and it was pretty good value for the money. The controls were easy to use. Unfortunately with a broken rudder I could not fly it but all in all good value for the price. Returning it but will likely by another once the price drops under $100 again.

Bought a pair of these and they fly really well for the price. I put a pair of bigger bush tires on mine, and while it no longer does the “automatic” rolls with the shoulder button, it ground loops much less and handles rougher landing surfaces. It’s not the most powerful plane, but the different modes are really helpful for learning. I almost always keep it in intermediate mode to automatically level it out and smooth landings and whatnot. Keep in mind it’s a small plane, so any wind will toss it around. Still, great little cheap starter that has all the features of much larger planes.
