I have a very thin silicone matt I have tried too many times in hopes that some little trick might make it stay in place when I am using it for what I bought it for -- kneading dough. It always ends up making the job harder and messier than it should be. I bought this one hoping the heavier weight would do the trick. I am delighted to report it worked exactly how it should. The back side is quite tacky on my granite counter. I rinsed it off, gave the counter a quick wipe with a damp paper towel and rolled out this matt. There were a couple bubbles and creases when I first laid it down but they were very easily smoothed out and the air escaped readily as it stretched and stuck to my counter to create a secure pad for kneading my dough. It remained completely in place after kneading and rolling out all my portions and then easily lifted off when I was done. The surface accepts flour well and the dough didn't stick -- even when it was still pretty wet. As a bonus, the tiny lip managed to keep some flour off my counter top which I wasn't really expecting. There was definitely no oil on mine nor anything leaching out. I don't know what those other reviews are talking about.

Sturdy. Easy to use. Stores nicely.

Large size, but manageable. Cleans easily, except for the undulating pattern in the corner. Hard to clean the grooves if dough gets in them. Bottom of mat is sticky enough to not slide around on the counter. Good quality material that works well for rolling out dough especially with the raised edges. Only real negative so far is that it arrives folded up. The results in a crease down the middle of the mat that still haven't gotten rid of.

The mat is great and performs as one would hope but storing it is a pain. The strap and button that are supposed to hold it together when you roll it up and darn near impossible to put one through the other. If and when you do get it closed it pops open not wanting to stay closed. It's very frustrating to store.

It fits perfectly on my counter. Nice & big and love the thickness. Easy to clean and I actually rolled it up and used the flap that says can use to hang it. I used it as a strap and worked well. In the beginning the backing was really sticking together but no damage pulling it apart. Purchased it to use mainly to roll my dough. It has measurable lines and alittle lip on ends. Just what I was looking for.

Aside from it being stuck to itself when I removed it from the packaging and becoming the battle of my life to separate it... this mat is everything I needed! The size allows me to toss flour and dough all over my counter, cause if you're not messy when you're baking, who even are you lol... Has more than enough space for 2 loaves and room to maneuver! It's super grippy to the counter without being sticky... it's a win for me!
