The best of all time
I have bought probably 15 pairs of these. They are the best work pants I have ever had. The pocket configurations are great, I can carry my tools separately without mixing them up. The front pocket is the perfect spot for a knife or multitool. The ripstop mesh is fantastic. I cycled through 5 pairs of these, wearing them nearly every day for a year working outside. After abusing them for that long, only one of them had just started to fray at the knee. I’ve gotten these snagged on things before and they haven’t torn or had threads pulled out. Not hot or cold, not stiff or scratchy. Not completely waterproof, but resistant enough that a light rain or splash won’t soak in, and they dry very quickly. The color holds up in the wash and stains/dirt are easily rubbed out. I love the self-sealing Velcro back pockets which keep my phone from falling out, and the d-ring on the front for a carabiner, ID badge, or set of keys. Fits true to size. I have sold most of crew on these, and several of them have made a point to tell me how right I was about this $60 pair of cargo pants having more value than $150 Carhartts. I will continue to buy these for as long as they make them, and you should too.

Comfortable and cool
Very comfortable and seems tough. Cooler than denim and pockets are roomy. Zipper is great. Pockets are Velcro and unlike my old BDU’s they lay flat after emptying.

Ok alternative to 511 pants.
If you've owned 511 pants or don't want to ruin your 511 pants or want less expressive 511 functionality, these pants will fit the bill. Think 511 as business casual and these as casual/dirty work pants. I can't speak to longevity yet since I haven't worn them long enough. They're lightweight and help keep you cool, more of a summer pants then winter. The stretch waist is a plus and belt loops are big enough for a duty belt. Front hand pockets could be bigger/deeper, but not really a con since you have so many other pockets. Hook and loop fasteners seem to be good quality as do the zippers. They only cons I can think of (reason for 4 stars) is they are noisy. They have kind of a plastic sound when you're walking. The crotch is not flexible forcing me to pull up the pants when having to lift my leg. Other than that, they are good pants.

Couldn't ask for anything more of a pair of pants
I have no idea why these would be called tactical pants, but I like them. They fit well, feel good, wash well, and keep me warm but well ventilated somehow... and that make my butt look great. I've done some things that should destroy a pair of pants like these but you'd never know it to see them. The first pair is a year old and shows little signs of wear, so I got another pair about 7 months later. In fairness, I've also treated them because I take them hiking and camping, so that may have also helped. I love the pockets on these things, and filling them doesn't look weird. The stitching is strong, the fabric is lightweight, and wearing these to the office on casual Friday might feel like you're doing more than necessary. What's not to love?!

Sam, you made the pickets too short…
I would really like to give these pants a score of five stars. I would really like to have a closet full of these pants and to have them as my go-to uniform pants. I would really like to stop buying the “other brand” that cost quite a bit more but do not fit my waist quite as well. I would…but I cannot for one reason that I have been trying to convince myself that it should not matter. Although the cargo pockets are deep and spacious, the hip pockets are not. I know, I know, it is such a little inconvenience when talking about a pair of pants that are a good price, durable, resist water like a duck, and are a great fit, but I am a creature of habit. Decades of international travel have created a habit of carrying my wallet and money clip in my hip (front) pocket to keep them safe from pick-pocketing thieves. If these pocket were only a bit longer, maybe just by 3/4”, I would not be terrified that my wallet would fall out every time I sit down. Ok, I just realized this is a me problem and I gave them the fifth star. I will, however, channel my inner Allan Sherman and say, “Sam, you didn’t make the pants too long, but the pockets too short.”

Tough & durable construction wear.
Uses for construction work & they are tough & stains just wash away, which is hard to find. Pockets keep shape without the edges of pockets staying in place without getting perma-crease or shrinkage so it looks like a pucker. Great quality & durability for dirty jobs. Takes a beating & comes out looking like new months later.

Great work pants, but also great for regular wear
I bought these as work pants for yardwork or woodworking and such, and like them so much I've worn them as regular pants as well. The fit is great, they're very durable, have several useful pockets, and stay in place. Highly recommended.
