What is the length of the 8kg dumbbell please- trying to see if they will fit onto a shelf I already have at home. Thanks

Total length is 27cm, Handle length is 13 cm Hope it's helpful

One of them has a yellowy film that smells of coal tar ! What is best to wash it off with (detergent doesn’t seem to do much)

Mine had a very very slight sticky yellowy film but it was very slight. I just cleaned them with detergent, then through time it’s almost like it evaporated as it’s no longer there

are these solid inside or filled with sand/rocks? I purchased some early in the pandemic that were deceiving because they were just filled with sand.

They are solid, been brilliant definitely not filled with sand. I am very happy with my purchase, hope this helps.

No, I think the smell is the rubber releasing agent and preservative oils, the smell dissapates after a few days. At least mine did.
