Distracts the Crows
A wonderful distraction, the squirrels love it ( I am happy with that) and the rooks get frustrated because although they can extract some seed it is restricting and frustrating, the Jackdaws persist but are becoming less of a problem although they shake the seeds by swinging it and my weight designed feeder gets less action and the small birds are back.

Birds don’t like the feeder
I bought this feeder on 22nd February and not one bird has been anywhere near it. From experience birds don’t always take to a new feeder straight away and it has normally taken at least a day or so before they pluck up the courage to try it out. The feeder also feels a little fragile, it’s not as sturdy as some of the others. The lid is also very stiff to twist off. I’m not sure that’s going to get any easier as I have arthritis. If the birds don’t have a change of heart by the end of this week I’m asking for a refund.18th March 2025

Not bad
Not a bad feeder unfortunately the starlings are still able get to the seed. It's easy to fill and looks good

Not great
Not great. Looks good but the hanging ring keeps unscrewing when a couple of birds are on it so the whole thing comes apart and falls. Lost loads of food on the floor. Shame as I was wanting to attract the smaller birds

A unique design,well made,and the birds approve.
To date all my bird feeding was using the tube feeders, choose of this feeder was a gamble,a gamble that has paid of.Having filled it up with chosen seed I placed it out alongside the regular feeders and waited, several birds showed interest but failed to feed.Thinking I had made a bad choiceI went to bed disappointed however next morning the feeder was empty,I refilled the feeder and put it out,yet again no instant interest throughout the day but empty next morning. To cut a long story short ,the feeder was in full use by lots of birds from dawn onwards, empty by the time I got up,am now “thinking” of getting up earlier.A unique design, easy to fill etc,and obviously the birds like it,

A good idea but not pigeon proof
After reading all the reviews for this feeder I was not sure at first if I was going to purchase one.The pigeons changed my mind as they are becoming more persistent in emptying the other feeders. From watching the pigeons they are remarkably inventive when food is concerned. The box was crushed when the feeder arrived but it somehow survived. I first dealt with a common complaint, the screw that attaches the mounting ring. It is loose but a little thread lock solved that problem. I then removed all the little sharp pieces of plastic left over from the moulding of the plastic parts. I put food in it and put it on my feeding station. The starlings used it without a problem and the pigeons seemed baffled by it. Later in the day the pigeons had worked out how to get the food out of the feeder, one would land on top of the feeder and as it held onto the mounting ring it would lean over the edge of the feeder to get at the food, if it tilted the feeder enough the food would fall out onto the floor where it was quickly devoured by waiting pigeons. I tried adding spikes to deter the, the first spike were made of 3D printer filament, melted to form a base and super glued on, by the afternoon the next day they had removed enough spikes to empty it again. After looking online pigeon spikes are much longer than the 25mm ones I put on at first, after some thought I made 50 mm spikes from stout copper wire as in the picture. It has so far survived a day as the spikes are longer than the pigeons legs but only time will tell.On to the feeder itself: the parts fit together well but the central piece can be a bit fiddly to line up with the fixing tabs, I have to turn it over to line them up visually. The top can be awkward to turn as there is so little to grip, a couple of ridges would help, I would have glued something on to help if I had not covered it in spikes, these provide something to push against and makes it easy. One thing not mentioned in the listing is how much it comes apart for cleaning, it strips down into four pieces for cleaning. I don't have squirrels at my house but the way it swings on the mounting ring would slow them down. As a feeder it performs its job, as mentioned the starlings use it so the smaller birds should when they come back in spring as they fly with the starlings. I read a few comments about the seed getting wet, the birds don't care, all my feeders let water in to some degree so they should be cleaned after the rain or mildew and mold can form.So far I'm pleased with the feeder even though it now sports a spikey haircut, lets see how long it takes the pigeons to get to it again.

When it rains, you see the design fault
I was hopeful that this would be the perfect answer to bird feeding, without dropping lots of food on the ground below. We live in a semi rural location and I read that to avoid encouraging mice, or worse, rats, you need to have feeders that catch any escaped grains. We get lots of birds, small ones in particular, so this sturdy, quality built one from Peckish seemed to tick all the boxes. It looks great, it's easy to dismantle and clean, with top opening for the bird feed refills. Alas, looks can be deceiving and this is where things go downhill. The birds aren't keen on feeding from it, the seed gets damp when it rains and then sticks together, or worse, goes mouldy. I imagined the seed keeping dry when it rains or when there's a frost, which the main body part does, but the small openings get wet from rain dropping in via the bigger openings, which in turn blocks the holes and the birds then won't use. For the money, I wouldn't recommend it, unless you have a dry space or overhang to cover it.

The birds love this feeder
This is great for the little birds only. As the crow's can't get it in
