BasicSense Plain Square Chiffon Neck Scarf For Lady Retro 50s Light Weight

What a beautiful scarf for tying my hair back. A ponytail with a large bow, looks stylish and retro. When I was in Australia in the 1960's tying your hair back with a chiffon scarf was very fashionable, especially for office workers and secretaries. A matching colour to your outfit looks fab. But when I came back to England in 1970, it was not a fashion over here. I have always loved this look and now I have re-created it again.

These are the size and colour I wanted and they are very lightweight, but they are not as smooth as I hoped, the skin in my neck area is easily irritated and these are rougher than I wanted so will probably not wear them, charity shop for them I think.

I really loved this. Folded it up and used as a retro headband with a big bow. Just what I wanted. I had sooooo many compliments from people. I will definitely be order these in a number of colours. Arrived quickly considering the lockdown.

As a neck scarf it does the job, however I am surprised that none of the other reviews have mentioned that it isn’t colourfast! When I removed mine, after a couple of hours of wear, the colour had transferred all around my neck - black! Took a good scrub with a scrunchie to remove. I would agree that it’s not as soft as ‘chiffon’ but a good soak in fabric conditioner may soften it up. It’s ok but, for what it is, it’s rather expensive.

It's a lovely little 50s style scarf that came lovely packaged and very much it's what it's meant to be. I purchased it to fix a handbag, the draw string had broken and thought this lovely little scarf would be a great unique replacement. I am very happy with my purchase and my bag has had some lovely comments and if I ever need a 50s scarf I have one to hand.

Bought the green as a flash of colour for a funeral and tied it to my handbag which looked nice... I tied it in a bow and there was enough material for it to hang over my bag. Not sure if I would wear it around my neck as it is chiffon which isn't that great on your skin.

Arrived quickly, which is the only good thing I could say.All the edges were completely frayed and the material measured 57cm by 61cm. I purchased this to use as a head scarf and I have a small-average size head and a small neck but this scarf barely fastened around my head, due to being 6cm smaller than advertised. Would be okay as a neck scarf. I also had to cut off a white label and colour it in with a black marker as it was clearly visible.Very disappointed.

I bought 2 of these chiffon scarves as a gift, one blue, one cream. They arrived safely and quickly. The scarves are thinner and finer than expected but I was able to resolve this issue by layering them on top of each other to make one thicker scarf. The colours are true to the picture and the colours I choose blended really well so the end result was nice. For the price these scarves are great value but I would say that you need 2 to create a scarf thick enough to serve its purpose.
