Okay! It takes getting used to!
It grew in me. I didn’t like it the first time I had it; however, I am about to reorder it. I kind of got used to it.

Energizing Rich and almost dark latte-like
The media could not be loaded. Energizing Rich and almost dark latte-likeVery much like coffee and is very energizing. No hint of mushroom taste even though that's certainly the power behind this drink along with the caffeine. The coconut milk lightens up the flavor so it's not espresso-like despite its strength. That it's instant makes this a quick process when you need its power. It was as quick as putting a tablespoon and a half into a cup, adding hot water, and a stir with a spoon. Given the ingredients, it needs a good mix for everything to properly dissolve. Overal a unique flavor and one that I'll keep coming back to. Great when you need that extra energy boost for a long busy day.

Earthy, slightly nausea inducing flavor
I like the benefits this coffee offers. It makes me feel better about being a coffee addict. The coffee mix smells really good, almost like a cookie mix. The taste, though, has a strong earthy flavor, and once I added the mix to hot water, the smell made me feel slightly nauseous. I ended up adding a bit to a different brand of coffee, but even there, I have to be careful not to put in too much or the flavor becomes apparent and overriding.I tried the Focus version from this same company and the nausea flavor/smell wasn't as strong in that mix. While I like the idea of the extras added to this coffee, it's not worth the nausea flavoring for me.

Not my cup o' 'shrooms
The Organic Traditions Endurance Instant Mushroom cup of coffee, is just not my cup o' 'shrooms. It comes attractively and conveniently packaged in a resealable, foil pouch. On opening, you can see that the powder is not uniformly one color, it is clearly a mixture of different components. However, it mixes up well in hot water and already has coconut milk in it so you do not necessarily have to add your own milk or vegan milk substitute. On the plus sign, this is all organic and EcoCert certified. The mix includes coconut milk, instant coffee, palm sugar, Maca X, cordyceps mushroom extract, cinnamon extract, and ashwagandha extract. For the 'endurance fuel' part, this has 135 mg of caffeine per cup. Just for reference an average 8 oz cup of Joe has 91 mg of caffeine, so one serving of this is like drinking 1 1/2 cups of coffee. Enough to give you that get up and go or, for some, a respectable amount of jitters. The problem for me was the taste. In spite of instant coffee being the first ingredient after coconut milk powder, there is zero coffee taste. Being as charitable as I can be, I would describe the flavor as being very earthy with a Crayola crayon like aftertaste that was just unpalatable for me. I tried dressing it up with more coconut sugar and adding almond milk, but the flavor but it was still a no go. I tried a variety of different sweeteners in combination with regular milk, oat milk, and almond milk, but I couldn't get it to a point where it was pleasantly palatable. I had my wife and kids taste test it as well and none of them liked it either. So on the very positive side, you get 350 mg of organic/EcoCertified cordyceps, 130 mg of ashwagandha extract, and 750 mg of maca root per cup. And 360 mg of caffeine, if you do that kind of thing before a workout. The quality of the ingredients is definitely up to snuff, but the taste just did not work for me. As we all have a different perception of taste, your milage may vary.I'm giving it 3 stars for quality of ingredients and presentation, but I can't add any more stars because of the taste.

Bad aftertaste
Mushroom coffee is not for me. It looked creamy and smelled ok but one taste and I could not drink any more.I drink my coffee black so I thought it would be a good alternative. It has a high caffeine count and is labeled as endurance fuel so I thought I'd try it.It says to mix with hot water so I just put a coffee filter in the machine and brewed plain water so I knew it wouldn't be too hot or too cold. I put a tablespoon and a half into the hot water in my mug and stirred. The mixture did not fully dissolve. It was still quite clumpy even after stirring for awhile. My mug holds three cups of coffee, so there was plenty of water.I wanted to like this product, but the flavor is just not for me.
