Works instantly and easily, including free software that auto-selects for installation.
Finally a way to transfer photos without selecting each one and without sending them to the commie-cloud first. In my case, my iPhone (7 I think) would not transfer much via USB before bombing-out, and FTP/SAMBA, ETC. transfer programs that don't rely on "the cloud" were really difficult to use even for an electronics engineer/programmer.While this device was a little expensive for the included flash space, it's a little more than just a flash drive and works flawlessly, including (optional) deletion of files from your phone after transfer. Love it!

Works Better than Expected
Don’t believe the reviews you read. The people who posted poorly, are likely technology illiterate! It acts very much like a Microsoft device, in the face where it’s a plug and play! The only one-off, would be that you Must download the Kingston app as well, which it’ll redirect you to it automagically! If you happen to cancel that (like I did), it won’t ask you again, and you’ll have to go look for it in the App Store. Which is also not rated awesome, but I imagine same tech in-savvy people who purchased product also had to use/rated the app.Anyways, I tested mine with downloading a couple photos and plugged it into my M$ computer, the file format was jpeg.Turns out you can upload to the device as well and view photos and what-not on your phone via the app.Now you Have to use the app if you’re using the device. Apple’s design is great like that.I’d recommend having upwards of 50% when downing a couple pics, +75% for multiple video. If you wanna be safe, then do it about 80% battery, bc you can’t charge your phone at the same time. Unless you have one of those fancy iPhones and you don’t need the Lightning port.

Works As Advertised
This product does what it says - copy photos and videos. Not as fast as I like but certainly better than other ways of freeing up space. I like that I can download to the bolt and upload later to my Kingston mobile lite G3 when I get back to the office. It would be nice if the delete photo feature would also remove the pics/videos from the delete folder on my iPhone SE but am guessing Apple controls that.It has never frozen up on me like other products I have read about. This is worth the money if you take lots of pics/videos and need to download them on the job site. The app is very intuitive and easy to follow

Great buy, photos for days!
Calling all iPhone users! This is THE coolest and most simple, go-to device by far! We all love our photos in our phones and what could be the easiest way to transfer these off, the Kingston bolt! I Couldn’t believe how simple and easy this device was; just download the app, plug in, and transfer all your photos. From there you can then easily plug in the usb side of the device to transfer your photos to your computer, laptop etc. This is such an awesome way to clear storage on your phone or and/or create back up data of your photos. There have been so many times where our storage has been full on our phones and at the most inopportune moment; be prepared to save the day with the bolt!

very good product
Another great product from Kingston. I always trust Kingston products and a right decision is made again this time. Works great, and is refreshingly easy to use! I plugged it into my iPhone, was prompted by my iPhone to install the app, (and it took me right to the app in the App Store). Once the app was installed, it was one easy step to copy all my photos onto the Kingston Bolt. It gives you the option to copy them on the Bolt only; copy them to Bolt & delete from iPhone; or to save the photos you're taking to the Bolt, instead of on your phone. You simply plug the other end into any USB drive to then transfer the photos to your computer or laptop. I first ordered a "G-Ting Jump Drive" for copying my photos from my phone to my computer, but after 10 tries (at least!) I couldn't figure it out. Kept getting error messages, and what few photos it finally copied wouldn't even show up on my computer. Piece of junk -- I'm usually very good with technology.

Big let down
I ordered this with VERY high hopes. I've literally been searching for YEARS trying to find a way to export photos from my iphone with metadata attached, and I saw a YouTube video where this device did exactly that. While it does do this, and transfer the metadata, you can only do a few photos at a time. It's beyond slow. I've attempted to transfer a couple hundred photos and videos at a time, and not only does it deplete your battery in minutes, you have to leave the app/phone on and open, there's no way to charge the phone while it eats away your battery, but it never tells you how much has transferred. Currently, I started out with 55% and tried to transfer 400 photos, I'm now at 36%, it's taken 40 minutes and shows nothing has transferred and there's nothing to show for it. I'm very disappointed. This thing is very slow and doesn't live up to the hype. Even when I've tried only transferring 100 or 50 photos at a time, it still takes up a lot of battery and still takes an hour to transfer. ALSO, if you have no more space on your phone, this device wont work either. You have to have a certain amount of GBs to even use the bolt. So, I had to delete several apps and other important things on my phone just so that I could even try and use it. I have several thousand photos and videos on my phone that I'd love to export, but that's not going to happen with this bolt device. I hate to leave a bad review, but this thing doesn't do what the videos say it does.

The Best Flash Drive for your iPhone
It’s small, it’s compact, you can put it on your key chain, it has a rubber case to protect it when it’s on your key chain, and it has helped me save so much space on my phone. However, my only nit picky complaint is that I ordered one that was supposed to be 64gb and on the app it says there’s only 62gb of space.Maybe it’s my phone, maybe it’s the device, I don’t know sure, but what I do know Is that it’s very useful if you travel and take a lot of photos and videos on your iPhone.Definitely recommend if you like the idea of having practically an entire back up drive for all your photos and videos on your phone.
