Great chess for what I needed for class.

This is a very nice chess board but it has a pretty nasty problem. It comes rolled up. That means the vinyl remembers the curl and it is very difficult to get rid of that curl. This is the problem with any vinyl chess/checker board. I tried hot water first, but that was not enough. I had to lay it on a flat surface and use a hair dryer, moving it up and down the edges of the board. With enough passes it eventually started to lay flat. It is very annoying when it curls up like that so it is necessary to work on it to get it to lay flat. The funny thing is, it is rolled up with the chess squares design on the INSIDE of the rolled up tube. If it was rolled up with the chess squares pattern on the OUTSIDE, it would have been easier to get it to lay flat. Also, "Roll-Up Chess Board" is not a good representation of what it is. It is not a roll up board, because if you roll it up and leave it for any length of time, it's going to remember that curl and then will not lay flat again and you would have to repeat the process of getting it to lay flat. Once you get it to lay flat it is a nice looking board however. It's the best color I think for a chess board too. Green and Buff is used in many tournaments, although this is not a full size tournament board. The price was good also. I gave it three stars because it was kind of hard to get it to lay flat, and if you allow it to stay curled, the pieces get picked up off of the table by the curl and that does not work very well at all when you go to play a game. After the curl is fixed, it looks nice though.
