It looks like this has probiotics?

Its possible, but not sure. You cant go wrong with this food. I researched the hell out of bird foods before I finally settled on this one. All my animals get the absolute BEST food around. I also give this brand of food to my rabbit who also enjoys it. I was going thru a small bag of this about every 3 weeks that I finally ended up buying the really big bag which in the long run is a lot cheaper. My green wing macaw LOVES this food, he gobbles it up like crazy. When I got him he was used to eating seeds, I thought I was going to have a problem switching him over to pellets but he dove into these with no problems and this is the only pellets that I feed him now. Hope this helps.

What makes this diet any different from any of the commercially available parrot diets?

Any of the "other" commercially available parrot diets? This brand shows up if you Google "commercially available parrot diets". However, besides being similar to others in that it is a nutritionally complete parrot food, a difference is that it is formulated in multi-sized particles... Our birds love variety - flavors, shapes, sizes. Anything you can do to provide variety seems to be a good thing!
