Great Quality Dried Woodear Mushrooms!
I recently tried the VIGOROUS MOUNTAINS Dried Woodear Mushrooms, and I’m really impressed. They rehydrate quickly and add an amazing, earthy flavor to soups, stir-fries, and even salads. The texture is perfect, and they have a nice, chewy bite once rehydrated. I love that they’re all-natural and free from additives, which makes them a healthy addition to any dish. Pros: • Excellent flavor and texture once rehydrated • Great for soups, stir-fries, and other dishes • Natural and additive-free • Convenient, long shelf life Cons: • None – they’ve been a great addition to my kitchen! Final Thoughts: I highly recommend the VIGOROUS MOUNTAINS Dried Woodear Mushrooms to anyone looking for high-quality dried mushrooms. They add incredible depth to dishes and are a pantry staple I’ll definitely keep stocked.

Soak them
Very yummy. Definitely soak them in water for 15-30 minutes before you do anything. They don't have much taste, but add good texture and plant collagen. The texture is reminiscent of seaweed. I put mine in some hot & sour soup. It turned out lovely, soup was gone the next night

Perfect for homemade ramen.
I bought these to use as ramen toppings and they worked perfectly. Soak in warm water and they’re ready to go. Made tonkotsu ramen in the instapot and it came out delicious. I also bought these porcini mushrooms for my ramen tare and they were great too. I had issues finding the correct mushroom at the Asian market since I cant read the labels so I was happy to find these plus I prefer this container for storage.

Not what I expected.
So I finally used this product and boy was I disappointed. First of all, the texture should have a little crunch to it. Not soft and mushy like mine came out. I've cooked with this type of fungus before and there was always a crunch to it. That's really what texture this is supposed to provide since it has no taste. It actually grows where I live (Hawaii), but conditions have to be right (rainy weather for a couple weeks) and it grows in the forests and I'm a senior so I figured buying it was much easier than going out and picking it. Oh well, I just threw the rest in the trash where it belongs.

A Good Value
A good value for the money. The product was exactly what I needed.

Pretty good.
I bought this to add to some Chinese dishes I like. They are a bit more rubbery than I remember but add texture. Be advised that they expand quite a bit when rehydrated.

Chewy tasty woodear mushrooms
I absolutely love the flavor and chewy texture of woodear (black fungus), they are such an underrated mushroom. Some might find the texture odd, but I like chewing on these slightly gummy slightly crunchy mushrooms. Another reviewer mentioned eating them like chewing on a bat 's wing and that fairly accurate... in the best way possible. The flavor is earthy, quite mild. The mushrooms reconstitute fairly easily, in 12-15 minutes, and grow huge in volume. The pictures portrait just 10g of dry mushrooms re-hydrated. Woodwear mushrooms go well with noodle salads, I sometimes even snack on them, they are great in soups as well. The mushrooms come in a plastic jar, with a aluminium snap seal (like cans) and a plastic lid to reseal.

NOT THE QUALITY OF THE PAST PRODUCT
I've ordered this brand of woodear several times over the past few years. My most recent batch just does not rehydrate to the consistency and firmness that I have come to rely on from this producer. The rehydrated mushrooms have a mushy texture that is unappealing in soups. It's disheartening to think that I will now have to find a different supplier.
