Is it essential that I pull on the garment (to stretch it out) while steaming it? I'm afraid I'll burn my hand in the process.

For the most effective steaming results, especially for heavier fabrics, we recommend pulling on a corner of the garment to make the garment taut. This helps the steam better penetrate the fabric and quickly and more effectively refresh your fabrics and release the wrinkles. When pulling on the corner, be sure to keep your hand a safe distance from the steam nozzle and steam.

Would this be a good product for using in a children's boutique? For instance, when the clothes comes in and are unboxed, they are wrinkled from ship

Vicki, I bought this for my daughter for christmas. She had work clothes in a trash bag from moving and used the steamer on them. It worked beatifully. I was amazed at how it took the wrinkles out of her clothes.

Can you use this to steam curtains while they are hanging on the window?

Yes, BUT when I bought one and used it for this purpose it sprayed hot water and steam all over the walls and little droplets of hot water were all over the hardwood floors beneath the rod. It was frustrating to use on 4 long 100% cotton curtains because it kept cycyling on and off, steam/no steam, every 15 seconds or so. It took FOREVER to get through one panel. Two panels, then I quit.
