Great Teaching Tool
Great teaching book. I have never even held stix. I am playing, understanding the difference in tuning, sound and each drum and reading music. It's a great teaching tool.

This is THE book every drummer should own
I've purchased many books on drumming over the years. These include many well known authors (Stone, Adler, Burnes, Reed, etc.). Many of these publications are considered "bed rocks" of drum instruction. The "Learn To Play The Drumset" combo pack book by Peter Magadini is different in an important way. Rather than just providing text based rudiments and charted methods, Pete's book delivers a complete/practical set of drum patterns frequently used at gigs. He covers all music types, rather than focusing on a select few. Additionally Pete provides recorded examples and video clips to aid the student in mastering the lessons (accessible through halleaonard.com using a code found in the book). I found this especially helpful in learning the material quickly. From a practical standpoint I believe that Learn To Play The Drumset is the best complete guide I've used in my many years of drumming. Whether your just starting or an experienced drummer, everyone will improve when using this book. IMHO - it is a must have.

Not very helpful for this beginner
Not what I expected and not very useful for me. I wouldn’t recommend this for a beginner.

Bastante mediocre
