I hung this product around the underside of my kid's bunkbed. It looked good and worked pretty well for about two months, even got it to connect seamlessly with Alexa. I more or less forgot about it after that as I don't go in that room much. Now, 8 months after I bought it, the light strip doesn't work at all no matter what I do to it. This neon flex-type rope light appears to be newer technology than LED strip or rope lights and I was hoping it had advanced enough to be as reliable, because it looks a lot better. But sadly it seems not.

Like the title says, the price says it all for these. Go ahead and spend the extra money. I RARELY turn these on and have used them about a handful of times since July 2024. They are completely nonfunctional now. First, the lights looked great. Then, there were clearly issues because it would glitch and be multiple different colors at once throughout the rope and the pattern feature would skip. Now, they simply don’t turn on at all. Unfortunately it’s too late for a refund but hopefully I can prevent someone else from buying these. If I could give 0 stars I would.

The product is amazing until it stops working. The lights just one day stopped turning on. I tried troubleshooting in many ways, no luck. its not worth saving a few bucks with this product. go pay more for better quality.

These are actually capable of changing color at every individual led. Chase sequence, etc. is doable right from the remote. The remote isn't capable of detailed change however. For that, you need the app and that requires your location and some personal data. I don't like downloading apps that want my location just to run the lights- furiously against it. However, I bit the bullet for this review. The app has a lot of different motion selections with a lot of different color combos. You can also make your own. It doesn't let you manipulate each led, but it can let you grab a chunk of them and sequence them in different patterns- so technically it does manipulate each LED individually to perform those tasks. Intensity is also available as is speed. For the average user, it's going to give you lots of choices that may well be enough to keep you busy for a LONG TIME. Both the app and remote can engage the sound triggering features. That opens up a lot of choices for how the lights react and what colors you want. Presets are ample, along with user defined types as well from the app. If you want a more robust access to all this strip can do, you will need to download the app and agree to its terms for collecting personal data. I only caution you so you take the time to read through all it collects. It's important you know. No app needs all that personal data. It claims to not share it, however you also need to know where the app comes from: a country that, by its own law, must share all data with its government upon request. If you are ok with that, then the app opens up features you wouldn't otherwise have by simply using the remote. The strip leds are almost perfectly hidden under the milky covering. You can see individual points of light, but it's not that bad to remove another star. My only real caveat is the price- a little high for what it does, but in contrast it's bright, and lots of fun to use. It's also bendable into shapes.

We purchased x2 of these things about 4 months ago. 1 has to be turned on & off multiple times to make sure the whole rope turns off after each use, the other has a loose connection inside of the housing causing the light to flicker or not power on unless the cable is bent. Both are extremely hot on the connectors to the wifi controller. Would not recommend, do yourself a favor and find a different brand.

I'm a bit of an LED aficionado. I have purchased most types of LEDs that use ws2811 protocol for an annual light show that I put on. When I picked out these lights, I had no expectations about them being useful for my light show because the product page listing lacks a few details that I would have found pertinent. 1) These LEDs use WS2811 protocol and are individually addressable with other controllers. 2) There are 160 LED BRG nodes in the strip. 3) The strip is well constructed and probably the most durable LED strip I've come across. (Note: I have not bought other 'rope light' or 'diffused' strips before.) 4) These are directional. Meaning only the top surface allows light out - the sides and back are opaque and do not allow light out. However, that isn't a problem in most use cases. I do think $80 is a bit steep of a price relative to what I normally get, but most of the lights I buy are not encased in silicone, and don't come with a controller/app. So the price may be fair. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures or videos of just the lights, but I do have a video clip showing them in action. I made a circular spiral out of them and added them to my light show this year. In the video, you can see a circular LED spiral on the upper left side of the house - that is these lights.

I absolutely LOVED these lights when I first set them up. I’ve had them for less than a month and they are starting to glitch and the light setting are messing up… would not purchase. These have awesome light setting and I would have purchased more but not now.
