I usually don't spend much on rollerball pens, sticking to the Japanese Uniballs or other more conventional brands. I However I liked the look of the Bond & Regent pens and decided to go for the Royal Blue and Gold option as a change from the usual black or silver. The pen arrived in a nice box with a spare Shmidt 888 Medium Black Refill, also available on Amazon. I am impressed with the overall build quality of the pen, it has a nice weight with a bright lacquer finish and the top closes with a satisfying clip. It certainly looks more expensive than it actually is. The pen is easy to write with and initially it flowed smoothly across most types of paper. However, after some usage I am having to apply more pressure when writing, otherwise it skips a bit and some of the writing is faint; this maybe due to the cartridge running low, so would need to test with a new refill. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend it to others; although I prefer fountain pens for the truly smooth writing experience, I would consider purchasing a second Bond & Regent pen in a different colour.

This is a truly beautiful pen that writes extremely well and smooth. When I first received it, the packaging was pristine with no major issues. It includes an ink and spring refill, which is amazing, because I know this pen will last for a long time. I was pleased with how easy it was to write like the pen was just gliding over the paper. There were no ink blots or smudges, and the ink flowed immediately with the very first letter. This is a wonderfully crafted pen, great value for the money, and is something I would even consider gifting to friends or coworkers. I am extremely happy with this item and highly recommend it for anyone who writes a lot!
