OWCThunderbolt Hub, 5 Ports, 60W Charging Power, (3) Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C), USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, Compatible with M1/M2 Macs, Thunderbolt 3 Macs and Thunderbolt 4 PCs, USB4 Machines

Note: This hub needs a Thunderbolt host. Not suitable for a USB4 Windows host. But I may be wrong. Check with OWC support prior to buying.I use it for Ipad Pro M2 11” together with my Uni 8in1 pro+ UsbC dock. Since the Uni couldn’t daisy chain properly (very few hubs can!) I tested this OWC TB4 (that was proclaimed to daisy chain), and it did indeed. So I have ( if looked from downstream last in the chain) HDMI display, Gbit lan, usb audio interface, midi controllers, sdcards, usb mouse, all connected to the Uni 8in1 pro+. Uni is then daisy chained ( via its host port!!) to one of the OWC TB4 downstream ports on the back. OWC Host port is connected to Ipad Pro. In the USb port on OWC front is a standard fast Samsung ssd. On the back TB4 port is a ridiculously fast NVme ssd. Unfortunately the Usb 3.2 gen2 enclosure is only 20Gb/s so it doesn’t make full use of the TB4 abilities. The enclosure has 3 UsbA 10Gbit ports for expansion. All is powered by the OWC 110W massive power supply. Including Ipad. So I’m glad they built the supply as sturdy as it is. And it’s big. I can live with that. It gets hot. Would be strange if not.So as a conclusion after this long rant on connecting audio visual equipment to a IPad Pro with a singel TB4 cable.Everything works. Without glitches, dropouts, communication problems. It works (almost) as a clock. Just to point out the magic in such a setup. Realtime audio processing (sometimes with animated graphics thrown in) ,has to deliver in exact time frames to succeed. OWC TB4 succeeds in connecting all this equipment with no problems. It powers (almost) all my devices with no problem. It makes possible a high quality mini music production studio. Throw in two descent 🎤 , get a guitar, headphones, usb audio interface and some cheap incredible tools at the AppStore. And you are good to go.OWC TB4 is a high quality fairly priced hub that does the job it’s built for.

Ich hatte den Anspruch, mein Mac Book M3 Pro mit so wenigen Kabeln wie möglich Mittnehmen zu können und am Studiotisch maximal 2 Kabel anschließen zu müssen.Normalerweise arbeite ich an meinem Mac Mini M2 Pro.Aber, wenn ich was auf dem Macbook vorbereiten wollte, musste ich das halt immer direkt am Macbook machen... Damit ist jetzt Schluss.Über meinem KVM Switch schließe ich jetzt lediglich 1 HDMI Kabel an und das Thunderbolt 4 Kabel und kann super damit arbeiten... Hätte zwar gern ne bessere GPU, so dass ich auch alle 3 Monitore nutzen könnte, aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau...Durch das USB-C/Thunderbolt Kabel wird das MacBook auch geladen, so dass ich das Netzteil immer eingepackt lassen kann...So macht das arbeiten Spaß!Der Preis ist etwas hoch, aber im Vergleich zu anderen Dockingstationen, welche Thunderbolt unterstützen noch OK!

Der Hub funktioniert an einem MacBook Air M1 absolut problemlos.Das Netzteil ist relativ groß, ist also nicht wirklich ein mobiles Gerät. Schade, dass man nicht das Original Apple Netzteil als Netzteil für den Hub nehmen kann.Wenn eine Firma ein grottenhässliches Logo (Sorry, is so!) hat, sollte man das nicht auch noch beleuchten (Kann man allerdings abschalten, was das Firmenlogo nicht hübscher macht)Ich betriebe daran:- ein Audiointerface (Scarlett 2i2 4th gen.) (War zuvor mit Usb-C Hub-Monitor verbunden, da hat es ständig die Verbindung verloren)- Monitor über USB-C, damit funktioniert die Bildübertragung, die Datenübertragung und der USB-C Hub, der im Monitor verbaut ist (Dell U2723QE)- Festplatten- Midi Keyboard.Die Geräte bleiben, wenn das Macbook in Ruhezustand geht, mit Strom versorgt. Das hat zur Folge, dass evtl die Lämpchen an diversen Geräten (z.b. Audio-Interface) weiter leuchten. Ob das bei Thunderbolt hubs nicht anders möglich ist, keine Ahnung..... ein bisschen schadeSeitdem ich diesen Hub benutze gibt es keine Verbindungsabbrüche mehr. Top!Buchsen / Stecker: Die Stecker sitzen ganz normal fest. Sie rutschen nicht einfach raus.Ansonsten: Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist hier einfach top. Würde ich wieder kaufen.

Ist super, schnell, habe mehrere Thunderbolt Festplatten und ein Audio Interface dran, klappt tadellos.

Das Teil funktioniert hervorragend am iPad Pro M4 13 Zoll (2024). Ich nutze den Thunderbolt-HUB für eine SSD (Gehäuse Zike 666 und Lexar NM790) und für ein Anker-Thunderbolt-2,5 Bit Netzwerkmodul. Ich bin, bis auf einen Punkt, sehr zufrieden.Das 110W-Netzteil ist zu groß. Es gibt bereits modernere, kleinere Netzteile. Das ist mein einziger Kritikpunkt.
