Q: What's the difference between the red and the black?

The black pads are the wire lube pads to lubricate the wire so it goes through the gun liner more easily. The red pad is the cleaner pad to clean any surface debris from the wire.

Q: How often do you add Lube-Matic liquid to the black pad?

Although it depends on how often you use your welder, I would put a couple drops on the pad each time you use it and more if you are using it alot. Over time the oil will transfer from the pad to the wire and from the wire to the inside of the wire guide, keeping it fairly lubed but not "wet". I've learned over time that just a little goes a long way in keeping that wire moving well through to the torch.
