Q: Would they work with a brooks shoe size 14eeee?

I wear size 12eeee and they didn't work well. No matter how I adjusted them, my foot still slipped out too easily. I ended up going with SPD peddles and shoes. Although no one makes eeee wide SPD shoes so they're kind of tight on me.

Q: Is this item a 1/2" pedal or 9/16 inch?

Standard spindle size - whatever that is. Fits Shimano MTB cranks.

Q: Do the XL straps have enough adjustment range to fit from size 8 or 9 on up to my size 13's?

I use XL size with size 9EE New Balance sneakers & had to tighten the straps as much as possible. They would seem unsuitable for a smaller size, but there's quite a bit strap to let out for larger sizes. I can't speak for size 13, that's snowshoe territory!

Q: What's the width of the pedal (The distance from the center of the pedal to the should of the spindle)?

The straps work best on normal sized "Beartrap" pedals. You need the metal band around the outside of the pedal - it's where you fasten the straps to the pedal with bolts and nuts
