Karlov! BOOOO!
Relax Nancy! This set is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be!The price increase and card reduction of the booster boxes got everyone’s shorts in a bunch! In fact this a great addition to the jumpstart family!20 possible decks, several of them off the charts outstanding! The “CLUE” theme is kind of neat. The supplied evidence cards are the usual people, items and places that you would get in a classic clue game minus the revolver. Seriously, Hasbro left out the revolver. A key piece to the CLUE game. This Hasbro mothering is getting a bit out of control!I will always call my tribal decks tribal. Not typal. silly.I digress. The set comes with some awesome items. The box is well made and comes with dividers. The art is amazing. Comes with 8 sealed jumpstart packs, enough for a 4 player game. Player screens to keep those peeping eyes of your evidence checklist, Rules of the CLUE game, 1 Case file envelope andONE OF THE BEST LOOKING BORDERLESS SHOCKLANDS YOU WILL EVER SEE!Seriously creepy art on the shocks. Very nice. For less than 50 bucks this is a steal in my eyes!Grab one before everyone realizes Karlov is actually pretty good.

Fun game to break away from commander
I ordered this product for my wife and I to play something other than commander. It was super fun and we got to play multiple times with the kit. We still play but with our own decks.

Not Quite What I Was Hoping
I was actually really excited about this Magic: The Gathering and Clue crossover game, but was sort of disappointed when I received my box. The rules are a bit convoluted, but basically you play a Magic: The Gathering game with the cards included, then you can do the Clue game guessing to see if you win that game. I was hoping that I could entice family members who are reluctant to play Magic: The Gathering with the combination game, but this was just going to be a longer, more drawn out Magic game (because of all the people playing) and only a bit of Clue content, and it just wasn't a winner for the family because of that. Now, as a Magic game it's an interesting concept with a bit of a twist, and I like the mechanics of this particular expansion, but if you just want to play Magic: The Gathering, you can buy a box of the new Play cards and go from there. I do like the Clue set's multiple sheets of Clue paper, so the game can be played multiple times, and the storage section, which allows you to keep the various card sets separate, again allowing the game to be played multiple times. The box is pretty too! If you want to play a Magic: The Gathering tournament with a twist here and there, this is a neat option, but it definitely isn't for everyone, and don't necessarily count on it to entice board game-playing family members into playing Magic: The Gathering.

Dont Be Fooled
This product could be good for some, bad for others. Bought 6 of these and they are all random. If you are unfamiliar with "Jumpstart" products, you should look in to those as this is how the 8 Clue packs are presented. The low down - at $55(ish) half of your cost will be covered by the foil borderless shockland (at time of posting). The rest is all a crapshoot. One set we opened had 4 packs of the Izzet League, others were pretty good allocation wise with one set having 3 Cult of Rakdos, and a bunch of duplicate packs. Even though you get one particular pack set, the rare/mythic slots will differ and maybe a common or uncommon. Value/Monetary wise, don't trust the online pricing. There's A LOT of this product out there and not a whole lot of people bought it at launch. If there's any singles other than the top 3 priced cards outside of the shocklands, buy singles. Heck, even if it is the top 3, buy singles... Some of the upscaled pricing on commons and uncommons is mindboggling. For example, at time of posting "Deal Gone Bad" from Clue is worth $2.50, the original Streets of New Capenna card with same art and all is valued at $0.03, its a common! If you're looking to play the Clue game and sell your shockland to recoup part of the cost, this isn't a bad deal. If you have no intention on playing the Clue game and want the cards for decks, buy singles. I can't stress how sealed product at ANY stage releasing since the original Lord of the Rings has any real value. From our personal openings of MTG product in the past 18 months, the best values and odds has to lay within bundle boxes. Even those are becoming ruined with Murders at Karlov Manor.... See you in 3 weeks for Fallout! Card quality isn't good, machining cuts left edges uplifted and pressed. Inking wasn't impressive. However, the box is nice and sturdy with dividers and slotted walls. Again, if you're going to play CLUE, then try it out.

Very fun twist on MTG
I'd never played Clue before trying this product, but I have plenty of experience with Magic. The box serves as a new "game mode" for Magic, and its changes to the formula of a typical game are very fun and easy to grasp for first-time players. The pseudo-draft concept of the included packs made for a fun and balanced experience, and thankfully the game can be replayed with any decks brought to the table by participating players. For fans of Magic, I absolutely recommend.
