A unique rustic clock created from a retired solid oak bourbon whisky barrel lid, likely to have originated from the bourbon rich areas of Tennessee or Kentucky, USA. It would then have been shipped over to Scotland where it spent its final days ageing Scotch whisky. What a story.... and far from any machine made clock! The clock features the phrase 'Tennessee Whiskey - American Oak'. Painted in a dark grey, the detail has been distressed, in keeping with the rustic appearance. The clock measures around 20.5 inch in diameter. The individual pieces of oak each have their own unique swirls and patterns within the oak. A Jacobean oak stain has been applied which extenuates the rustic oak markings. The clock has then been finished in clear satin varnish. The clock face has toasted wooden numbers and steel effect hour markers. An interesting feature on the clock face is the original bung near the centre of the clock. The clock is fitted with a high torque mechanism (requires 1 x AA battery, not included) and distressed black metal hands. *please note, the hands are lightweight in order to be powered around. This clock would make a unique gift for a whisky lover or simply for someone who likes something different. A D ring has been fitted to the rear so it's ready to simply hang straight onto a screw. The clock has been strengthened with wooden batons with a depth of approx 1 cm. Please note that shipping costs to remote parts of the UK, including the Scottish Highlands, may incur an additional shipping charge. Our items are also listed elsewhere therefore this listing may be removed without notice. Please note that due to the moisture content within wood, slight gapping between the oak staves is possible. A small amount of wood filler would easily remedy this. The clock has already received a small amount of wood filler already but this could be added to if desired. - Less
