I cannot begin on how great these boots are. I just retired my old pair after 3 years of daily wear. I'm on my feet almost all day and these boots have never let me down. The reason why I like these boots so much is that they are very lightweight and slim in comparison to most combat/work style boots. Timberlands are really good and all but I find them clunky to wear and annoying to put on and therefore reserve those only for really heavy jobs. When it comes to sneakers I usually wear Converse-type shoes and these are really converse type boots. I never lace them up, I just tie off the laces in the top eyelets and can then just slide them on and off with no hassle, but they still stay on on my feet really well even without the laces tied. Also they breathe very well with the canvas ankles and the eyelets towards the bottoms. The only downside is that they are not waterproof at all, but they dry pretty quickly bc they are so light. I also did have to replace the insoles after 2 years with Dr Scholls because the original ones were shredded. Included are pictures of my 3 year old boots and a new pair side by side.

Having tried another brand previously I didn't expect much. But with the "try before you buy" option I figured "why not". If they were junk, I'd get quite a bit of enjoyment sending them back & writing a nasty review. First thing, I put my hand inside to feel the inside seams. They were all flat & smooth as they should be. Next, I put one on. Just like my issue boots, they fit well enough to not require going to the hospital while "breaking them in." I wear a 10-10.5 wide. Of course those weren't available so I ordered 11R. Once again, nothing to lose right? Nailed it! They fit perfect. I was issued the early Vietnam boots so the soles were different but the later style isn't a deal breaker. The only "flaw" I could find (and I tried really hard to find some.) was they weren't laced properly. They started out OK then somehow got messed up. A thirty second fix and all is well. I live on a ranch now so these will be put to the test. If they hold up a fraction as well as my original military boots, I'll stock up with several more pairs. So far, I'm very happy!

I have owned these boots for about a year, and use them at work (in an industrial plant) and for hiking. I just had to order a new pair as the wear and tear finally got so bad the support was beginning to fail. Within about a month of getting the first pair, the lace on the left boot was broken while jogging up the stairs on a catwalk, and so I replaced both with gutted 550 cord, and between them and this past Monday, the boots performed admirably for cheap footwear. On Monday the band of nylon around the top of the right boot tore free of the stitches, and yesterday one of the eyelets began to tear loose. Beyond this, I have had no other issues, despite others seeming to have had problems within weeks or months. I suspect the quality control at the factory is the problem, keeping 8n mind that these are under 50 dollars. To compare to my Altama jungle boots I have used for training classes, the fit is much better. I wear a size 9.5 in my belleville boots, and the sizing is spot on with the Fox boots, unlike my Altamas which seem to run a little large. The canvas on the shaft and tongue are on par with the Altama canvas, while the Nylon felt a little more shoddy, but ironically has held up better, though this might be due to the difference in uses. All in all I have to say I am both surprised and pleased with the boots, considering the price point. I am looking forward to the new pair. To the company, should anyone ever see this, in my opinion it seems like the stitching and the mounting of the eyelets are the biggest problems with my boots. Using more durable stitching techniques and possibly reinforcing the eyelet mounting would go a long ways towards making these boots even better. The styling is spot on, and the use of actual canvas and nylon, like the old USGI boots is very much appreciated

I gave these an overall 5 Star rating not because they are the best boots ever, but because they are what they were supposed to be. Although compared to the original GI boots from the Vietnam era, they are 150%+ better. They are combat boots and unfortunately for quite some time the military didn't seem to care much about a soldier's feet(poor policy imo). Meaning you shouldn't be expecting super comfortable modern footwear. That said, they are much better than I was expecting. If you have ever tried on the real ones at a surplus store in the day, they were usually very narrow (if they made wide ones I never found any), stiff, and usually had a bunch of pokey things by the toes and around the ankles. These are rather flexible and I haven't experienced and pokeiness as of yet. I have only had them a few days. But I have worn them a lot to break them in. I walked in wet grass a lot and worked in the garden in them with now adverse effects. My feet remained dry as well. I like the sole better too. It is much more grippy. If you liked these boots in the original form, you will like these for sure. The materials are different, but better by default due to modern materials and manufacturing methods. I normally wear a Size #10.5-11 on average. I got a Size #10 Wide and it fits well with room for big socks if need be. Ok that about covers it. Good day!

The real setback came when I realized that the Fox Outdoor Products Vietnam Jungle Boot was not suited for rough and demanding terrains. Over a span of four months, I had to go through five pairs due to the accelerated sole wear caused by the construction site conditions. This frequency of replacement was both financially and environmentally discouraging. While these boots might serve well in specific environments such as soft mud or light outdoor activities, they simply couldn't handle the strain of a construction site. If you intend to use them in rough and challenging conditions, be prepared to face significant wear and tear issues on the soles. It's worth considering other options if your activities involve consistently demanding terrains. I am a former 11B, pre and post 9/11. I bought these boots to complete a costume for a party, having sworn to never own or wear another pair of combat boots. This product gets its 2 stars from looking and feeling like the real thing, it looks the part and will pass inspection. It even feels comfortable. Really unforgivable about these boots is the sole, these are absolutely not hardened or meant for activity. These are indeed costume boots, as advertised, or at least what the price suggests. Upon wearing them I noticed there were black markings on the floor from just putting them on. I scuffed my foot and left a thick black mark on my floor. These boots will disintegrate if you try to do anything physical with them, to include any field training or distance marching/rucking. This boot is for wearing to and from work, if you have an office job. Maybe wear to the club. I don't understand who the target audience is for these boots. Maybe me, for a costume party. The stench of these boots is horrible. There is an obnoxious chemical smell on these boots. I have kept these boots on my porch for literally 4 full weeks, and while the chemical filth smell has decreased, I can still smell them in the corner if I bring them inside. I guess this negates the wear-them-to-an-office-job comment, as you'd probably have a headache (and maybe develop cancer) if you just sat in a cubicle with these. These get 2/5 stars simply because I can't imagine anybody benefiting from saving a few bucks to buy these, instead of paying a few bucks more for something that will last 10-times as long, not scuff floors, and not give you a headache and/or cancer. I can't even recommend these for costume boots, because of the smell. Update: 8 weeks outdoors on the deck, I brought them inside and tossed them on the boot rack. Coming home from work, my front hall had that chemical stink. It's still there, 8 weeks outdoors in the sun and wind didn't fully address the stench problem. I'm going to drop my rating to 1/5, as I can't imagine who could tolerate the chemical smell, especially if this low-quality boot is meant only for office workers. Update 2: 12 weeks out on the deck, literally outdoors in the sun and wind, 3 months. I literally flipped them every 2 weeks, so the sun wouldn't bleach one side. Three months outside?, they smell better. I brought them inside, to put them on and break them in, as my costume party is in 1 month / 4 weeks. I set them on the floor, got to straightening the laces, and was overwhelmed by an intense chemical stink. I checked above to make sure I gave this a 1/5 review, and I did. The chemical stank of this product is unreal.

For $30 these boots are a good bang for your buck. As a former U.S. Marine I have have had several pairs of USGI combat boots in my day, including made in USA Vietnam era and post-Vietnam era jungle boots bought with my own private funds after military service, which no doubt are top notch quality if you can find them, but those tend to cost at least $100 for a nice pair. Sure these Fox Outdoor boots are made in China, but as far as reproduction boots go, these are pretty nice and are surprisingly comfortable. The toe box is not too large like with the Rothco version. I know these will not last forever, but for a back up pair or for casual use they are solid. Time will tell how long they last, so we'll see. I bought the OD green and black, but at this price will be ordering a solid black pair also.

I love these boots because hey they support your ankle that's one two it's easy to get out of mud with them and they look cool so now I had a airsoft thing and I wore them for 3 weeks when I was doing this thing and they haven't went dead on me yet sorry about the mud on them like I said they're easy to get out of the mud but you got to wear some really good socks with them not not wool but just something comfort cuz after while your feet do get sore in them but you got to change out your socks once in a while so your feet don't hurt but other than that I love them

Great product!! Cannot fault them for the price. They fit true, are comfy and good quality. I've worn them everyday for the last month and I'm very happy with how they're wearing in. Thanks Fox 👍

a reasonable facsimile to the jungle boots I wore in the mid 80s. Miss the speed laces though.

Ithink in this range it should at least be with decent reliability, but unfortunately the sole separated way to early, it is do to the fact there is no metal guard in the bottom. Also the stitches are for looks only.
