This was a gift for my husband, a retired colonel who has a fondness for LOTR and things that look appropriate to that setting, like this Norse mug. (He jokingly refers to his wedding ring as the "Ring of Binding", so some years ago I got him an official LOTR ring replica, complete with the Elvish inscription.) As a retired military historian I have a long-standing fondness not only for the sort of reading one might expect with various scientific interests thrown into the mix, but for fantasy/SF, genuine legends, myths, ancient literature and lore. We have Danish and other Northerners in the family tree from places like Scandinavia, Normandy, England, Scotland, and Ireland, so the evocative Ragnarok carving pleased both of us. It's a beautifully made "food safe" mug, useable for cold or room temperature beverages such as Guinness stout or mead, not just decorative. The media could not be loaded.  I chose this one for my husband because he was born on a year of dragon. Depicted is more like serpent which is still very cool if I was looking for it. We pored a drink in it just once and it smelled really funny. So I decided to HAND WASH IT GENTLY - and when I touched the inside of the horn - it didn’t feel clean, sticky actually. I’m returning it. The size and the packaging was good.
