Blueberries for Sal Paperback – Picture Book, September 30, 1976

Blueberries for Sal is an absolute treasure! The story is gentle and beautifully told, and the illustrations have a timeless charm. My toddler is completely captivated every time we read it—she loves the sounds, the bears, and of course, the blueberries. It’s the perfect cozy read for little ones and a lovely addition to our home library.

Just as sweet a story as I remember it being from when I was a kid. Nice to read to my LO now.

As a Mainer, this is a very cute story. I used to go blueberry picking with my mom. In growing up, my mom would read this story with different voices. Brings back memories and makes me nostalgic.

This book was perfect for me to give to my grandson when he was born. My father’s name is Sal (Salvatore). I wrote something to my grandson about his great grandfather & our family. It’s an old story that is very cute and I didn’t care Sal is a girl.

A book to be read to children with the rhythmic sound of the Berrys that they will pass on to their children.

Cute story

First of all I was amazed at the good condition of the book considering its age. When I was taking Reading for Elementary when I was in college I remember this little book. It was very popular at most elementary libraries. It won awards. Little did I know, years later my husband and I would name our 2nd daughter Sally. I always wanted to get a copy of that book and read it to her, it was just like her at that age. So this year I decided to do that as part of her Christmas gifts. Funny, after that book came in, she called and told me she went out to walk her dog and there was a bear on the college grounds that was near her house, so she and her GSP went home. In all the places she and her family have lived I don't think she has ever encountered a real live bear. This is going to make her laugh. This book is in great shape. Too bad her boys are all grown up, but they will get a laugh when she shares it with them. This book arrived even quicker than I expected. I am thankful for that.I would use this seller again.
