This robe is a good quality and value. It is a bit heavy for warm spring and summer days, but will be fine for cool spring, autumn and winter evenings. The robe has large pockets, and a place where you can hang it on a hook. It has inner and outer belts so you can tie it and adjust it how you want it and not have it fly open, especially for guys that like to go nude under the robe. The fabric is soft and feels like a light velvety terry cloth. The sizes run big so a bigger guy or an athlete can fit this robe comfortably. I have the black 2X/3X size. I would have given 5 stars but for the region I live in (the tropics) the robe will be a bit heavy most of the year except on winter nights.

It was a good fit and quite comfy originally however buyers note that it shrinks in the wash. I believe it to have gone down 1 size after the first wash/dry and after a second wash it shrunk again. Reccomend drying on low (I used cold water and medium heat) which may help or just air dry. *I haven't tested these options.*

Care instructions: Machine wash cold (30°C/86°F), normal cycle, no bleach, no tumble drying — air dry only. Iron on low heat if needed. The air-dry requirement is an inconvenience. Materials: The label claims 100% cotton, and the fabric looks, feels, and behaves like jersey knit — the same construction used in thicker t-shirts. It stretches very little vertically but a great deal horizontally, which is characteristic of jersey knit. It may well be 100% cotton jersey, but it's worth knowing what you're getting. Sizing: Many reviews recommend ordering a size up, and I followed that advice — which turned out to be a mistake for me. The robe ended up far too large. So take that advice with a grain of salt; it apparently doesn't work for everyone, and there's no way to know in advance which camp you'll fall into. Frustrating. Sash/belt design: This is where I have my biggest gripes. The right sash is sewn directly into the robe and cannot be adjusted at all. The left sash is sewn at one end to the same attachment point as the right sash, then wraps around the back and threads through a belt loop on the left side. More importantly, both the belt loop and the sash attachment point are positioned extremely high — on my robe, about an inch below my pecs. This means the sash cinches well above the waist, which looks and feels awkward. I'll need to modify both the sash attachment and the belt loop to reposition them at my natural waist. Bottom line: The sizing inconsistencies and oddly high sash placement that appear to show up in some units are real issues that may require tailoring to fix. Go in with eyes open.

Oversized garments are few and far between. This is a very nice Dressing gown well proportioned and reasonable value.
