Pleased when it arrived to find it also contained four other episodes (the trouble with Galagos, Janja's new crew, baboons, and lions of the outlands), so better value for money than I'd realised.

I wonder with the episodes released so randomly if we ever will get complete seasons. We're still missing 11 episodes from season 1 (26 episodes total) and they are already mixing episodes from season 2 in it. (Which has a total of 20 episodes so far already). I hope they will release more dvds.

The Lion Guard is an enjoyable series that has likable characters and has appeal for those who remember the original movie. Each episode is sprinkled with educational facts (not overt) and positive messages for kids. In addition, each episode includes a song. The main attraction on this DVD is the hour-long season 2 special, "The Rise of Scar". This special ends on an ominous cliffhanger and starts a new story-arc for season 2. It is important to note that, while "The Rise of Scar" is from season 2, the other four episodes on the DVD are from season 1. If you are new to the series, you should watch the four season 1 episodes first. Some people may be wondering why the remaining episodes are not from season 2. It is likely due to the fact that season 2 (as of this writing) has not yet finished its first run on television. As such, the Scar story-arc is still ongoing and is not finished yet. EDIT: The Scar storyline was completed in the season 3 premiere.
