I need wire to hold up plastic snakes for a Medusa costume. Will this work?

My opinion is no. It bends easily anyone could grab it and it would bend. I dont think it would hold its shape once some weight got on it.

Ttem is listed as bare copper wire,yet description says that it has coating that is tarnish resistant&permanently enameled.Is it bare or not?

The wire is basically bare with a coating that prevents tarnish (supposedly). The appearance is the same as untarnished copper wire. I use it for inexpensive wire-wrap rings. I have sold hundreds over the years and no complaints from customers. Other jewelry that I have made using recycled electrical wire which does not have this coating, will tarnish very quickly unless you coat it with a varnish or clear nail polish. ALL copper, regardless of coating, will tarnish because the coating wears off. The artistic wire with the coating is good for inexpensive jewelry but it will eventually tarnish and it does turn some fingers green. In short, if you are making copper wire rings, this wire is probably your best bet.

I have been using this brand for over 5 years now. I make needle felted creatures and use it for all kinds of embellishments. It does darken or “tarnish” in a good way. It takes over a year to really see any difference. It would be easily cleaned with a soft copper cleaning cloth
