Pretty good for what it is.
This is a good motor for what it is...a big lawnmower engine on top of an outboard mid and lower. There are some advantages to this setup. First is no mixing gas and oil. Just put oil in it and check it every so often, change it once a year or so, and fill it with regular gas and you're good to go. Next, no water pump or impeller to worry about. It's not needed since the engine is air cooled. Also, it sips gas. So far this summer, I have run on the same 3 gallon can and have not had to refill once. And I've gone MILES. Do yourself a favor and get a squeeze bulb siphon to refill the tank....it's hard to hold up a can on a windy day in choppy water... Finally, compatibility. About any standard mower engine with the same shaft size should fit, so if the factory Loncin engine blows up, you can probably get something comparable from Briggs and Stratton on FB Marketplace, and if you're reasonably handy, hook everything up to work just like it does on the Loncin. Negatives...you aren't winning any races. That said, it's not painfully slow (see video). That's a 1542 jon with a relatively light load. Even decently loaded with a trolling motor and all my fishing gear, it'll hit 10 mph no problem, provided the balance is correct in the boat. Another negative...the tiller handle is way too short. Laughably short, in fact. And, the twist throttle stuck open on me twice, and it broke the second time, so I finally ditched it and converted mine to squeeze throttle after welding on an extension tiller. Works so much better now. The motor comes disassembled and there are no assembly instructions. You'll have to use your Google-Fu in order to figure it out. And finally, it's a long shaft. Great if you have a tall transom, but if you don't, better learn about how to install and set jack plates. I've seen short shaft versions, and when they come down in price, I'll consider swapping out so I can ditch the jack plate. All in all, this is a great "utility" or "fishing" motor if you just want to get out on the water for cheap. It'll move your boat just fine if you're not in a big hurry, and yet it doesn't feel painfully slow. It's reliable, simple to operate, and economical as well. I would buy it again...in fact, that's what happened. This is my second 7hp Hangkai 4 stroke. I sold the first one and regretted it almost immediately, so I ended up getting another, and so far, I'm glad I did.

Nightmare, save your money.
BUYER BEWARE. Worked so well for one fishing trip. Followed all the break in instructions. Used the correct oil, checked the gear oil, fixed all the linkages to the correct spec. Not to mention it was hell to assemble with no instructions. About 3 hours of total use I heard a grinding noise, killed it immediately. Took the prop off and the gears are totally grinded down, completely shot. Don't recommend at all do yourself a favor and find a used brand name.

Good Service
The outboard motor is quite light and can fit in the trunk! The customer service is very enthusiastic and patient, and responds to any questions promptly. It has sufficient horsepower and is not very noisy. It is easy to install and operate.
