FAILS TO CONNECT time and time again.
I bought a 2-pack of these cameras to add to my existing NightOwl wired + wireless home security system. Before ordering I checked the Night Owl website, and this series is on the compatibility list with my Night Owl DVR, so no problem. On my existing system, I'm currently running 5 wired cameras and a wireless doorbell. Connecting the doorbell wirelessly to my DVR was a snap, almost completely automatic. These cameras, on the other hand, were a very different story. There are several steps to the process, all accomplished within the NightOwl Protect app on your mobile device:1. From the NO Protect app on your mobile device, connect directly to the camera via WiFi;2. Once that connection is established, enter your WiFi SSID and password to connect the camera to your home network;3. Once the camera connects to WiFi, connect the camera to the DVR so that the video can be controlled and recorded like any other camera on the system. After unboxing the cameras, I started with the first camera. First, it had trouble connecting directly. After a couple of tries, I connected to the camera, and it asked me for my WiFi SSID and password, which I provided. It failed a couple of times on this step, and I had to reset the camera (with a paper clip in the tiny "Reset" hole) and start the process over again. After making it through the camera connection again, and then finally through the WiFi connection step, the app asked me if I'd like to add the camera to my DVR. I said "yes," of course, and watched it spin for awhile before the "Something Went Wrong" error occurred. I retried several times, and always eventually got the same error message. So I reset the camera again, started at the beginning. Again, sometimes it would fail at the first or second steps, but several times it made it through to the third--but it NEVER successfully connected to my DVR system, even when I had the cameras within two feet of both the DVR and my Wi-Fi router.I unplugged the first camera and started over again with the second camera--the behavior was exactly the same. Multiple fails at various steps in the process, but it NEVER successfully connected to my DVR system. After spending time with Night Owl support (chat), the only thing they could suggest that I hadn't already tried is that the camera runs only on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Since my router runs both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, I logged in to the router and turned off the 5GHz transmitter to make sure the camera was forced to connect on 2.4GHz. This time, the status bar during the "Add Camera to DVR" stage lasted much longer, giving me hope...only to end up with the same "Something went wrong" message.I've now spent a total of around 4 hours trying to make this work, and it's time to stop. I'll be returning these cameras for a refund shortly. The sad thing is that I still don't know if the problem is with the cameras, the DVR or the app but I'll start with trying a different model of camera.

Great indoor security camera once you set it up
I'll break this down via Pros and Cons:PROS:- Very small, very light.- Powered by a tiny (included) 0.5W USB power adapter, but you can use your own.- Ball and socket style mount allows for mounting anywhere (can also just free stand and it comes OFF the mount so it's just a little cube that you can place in tight spots).- Once you get it going, the service is free - via the Night Owl app (iOS, Android), you can keep an eye on things from anywhere you have a data connection. There's no charge for this if you opt for local storage.- Save activity on microSD. Supports up to 128GB.- Low or High res stream in case you want to keep bandwidth use to a minimum or prefer a sharper image.- it's a TWO pack - place one in each corner of a room and it's wide enough an angle to catch the whole place.- Motion based capture (via the Night Owl app).- Live screen shots saved to your phone camera roll (via Night Owl app).CONS:- It was quite the issue to set it up at first. The instructions aren't intuitive. That said, there's a QR code you can scan to get more detailed instructions. I recommend it.- There's NO charge for streaming over the internet once you create an account. While that is a positive, I'm wondering how Night Owl uses the video captured (I will read through the terms later - there's a lot to go over).- The Night Owl app is very buggy. This didn't help with initial setup. The progress wheel just keeps spinning, even after the camera is set up correctly leading to confusion. Hope they fix it in later iterations.- The camera has a Micro-USB jack, not USB-C. That said, you *can* use an adapter as long as you have the physical clearance where you choose to place the device.- it's not a "night vision" camera. This is not a major problem as it's not advertised as one. So, just mentioning it.All in all, this is a good value for the money. You get TWO security cameras and when placed in corners of a room, you cover the whole room. When setting up, I recommend you switch your WiFi connection to 2.4Ghz if you are using 5Ghz. It's not a huge issue but some routers may work better if both the phone and camera are on 2.4 (the camera will use 2.4Ghz). These days, the SSID usually has a "-5G" suffix to tell you what freq it uses. When you plug the camera in and open the Night Owl app, the camera (when power indicator's fast blinking), will actually create its OWN WiFi with an SSID that matches the Camera serial number. When you scan the QR code of the camera via the app, it will ask to join that network. Don't freak out - join the network and the app will connect to the camera and then list out all the available 2.4Ghz SSID's pick the proper one, put your router password in and it should add the camera.Keep these handy:- Your SSID (both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz).- The password you use for WiFi.- A phone SIM ejection tool or a paperclip or toothpick (in case you need to reset the camera and start over).

Great addition
My system has the option to add wireless cameras to the wired ones that came with it. Thought to use them inside to keep an eye on our pets while we're away. Works great and didn't require a lot of hassle to set it up. 2 things to keep in mind. One is that it doesn't need to be mounted. Has a couple of different free standing options is case to want to change locations and two, it does need an electric power supply source. Happy with this addition to my system.

Unreliable connectivity
Maintaining connectivity is an issue with these cameras. They are frequently disconnected. I have no connectivity issues with other wifi connected devices (TVs) so it is not a router distance problem. I am using them with a Night Owl DVR.
