It blocks out light completely.
Our condo got brand new outdoor lighting upgrade and it got very bright at night. These curtains do a wonderful job blocking out lights. I also switched to the cafe type of 1" brackets so that the curtains are as close to the wall as possible to block out lights sipping in from the sides. The tie-backs are very handy. The back tabs make it very easy to slide it back and forth. We are very happy with the purchase.

White Color is Off
Great for blackout curtains, but the white was almost gray. They also allowed a little light between the blinds no matter how I rearranged the two curtains.
