A high-quality, manual emergency release point for secured doors.
The SecureMyDoor Resettable Emergency Break Glass Call Point is an excellent, well-constructed safety device designed primarily for indoor access control systems.Constructed from high-grade, durable ABS plastic, it feels robust and features a protective hinged cover that helps prevent accidental activation.A major advantage of this design is that it is completely resettable using the supplied key, eliminating the need to buy or swap out broken glass inserts after it has been tested or used.It is important to note that this unit is a passive manual switch rather than a standalone alarm. It does not contain an internal siren, speaker, or sensor to detect fires automatically.Instead, it is designed to act as a physical override mechanism within a larger, interconnected electronic security network. For properties requiring a manual emergency release point for secured doors, this unit is exceptionally reliable, highly visible, and very straightforward to surface-mount. As this call point operates purely as a manual trigger switch, it cannot function on its own. To utilise it effectively, it must be wired into a broader electrical loop containing the following mechanisms:An External Sounder or Siren: If you want an audible alert to ring out when the panel is pressed, the call point must be wired directly to an independent 12V or 24V electronic siren or sounder unit.Access Control Power Supply Unit (PSU): A dedicated power supply box is required to send low-voltage electrical currents through the call point to your security hardware.Magnetic Locks (Maglocks) or Strike Plates: In a standard setup, pressing this button disrupts the power supply to fail-safe electronic door locks, instantly cutting the magnetic hold to ensure people can freely exit the building during an evacuation.

Solid safety bit though key disappears
I screwed this SecureMyDoor call point next to the kitchen back door after the toast set the alarm off again and I realised the kids and I couldnโt open the mag-lock quickly if something serious happened.Bright green housing, chunky ABS shell, took me about fifteen minutes with a drill, two screws and a cup of tea. The twin COM/NO/NC terminals slotted straight into the existing alarm loop, and the moment I pressed the panel the lock clicked free like it had been waiting for the cue. And, crucially, a twist of the little key reset everything in seconds so no sweeping up shards. But finding that key after a week, different story. My daughter insists itโs a fairy wand so it now lives somewhere in her room, great. So, solid bit of safety kit, looks the part and does the job, I just wish the cover hinge felt sturdier, Iโd trust it more if it didnโt creak.

Practical Safety Device That Feels Well Made
I got this emergency break glass call point as part of a wider safety and access control setup. I wanted a unit that was clearly visible, easy to operate in an emergency, and suitable for indoor installation. The first thing I noticed was the solid construction. The housing feels durable and designed to withstand everyday use in a commercial or industrial environment. The bright colouring makes it easy to identify, which is exactly what you want from an emergency device.Installation was straightforward, and the unit feels secure once mounted. The design is clean and professional, making it suitable for offices, workshops, warehouses, residential buildings, and other locations where emergency access control may be required. One feature I particularly appreciate is the resettable design. Being able to reset the unit after activation is much more convenient than replacing glass elements every time it is tested or accidentally triggered. This can save both time and ongoing maintenance costs. The protective cover is another useful addition. It helps reduce the risk of accidental activation while still allowing quick access when genuinely needed. The cover opens easily and provides an extra layer of protection in busy environments. The operation is simple and intuitive. In an emergency situation, it is immediately obvious how the device should be used, which is an important aspect of any safety related equipment. There are a couple of minor points worth mentioning. The installation instructions could be slightly more detailed for those with limited experience fitting access control components. It is also important to ensure the unit is correctly integrated into the wider system if being used as part of an access control or alarm setup.Overall, I am very pleased with this call point. It feels robust, is easy to install, and offers the convenience of a resettable mechanism. For anyone looking for a reliable emergency break glass unit for indoor use, this is a practical and professional solution that performs exactly as expected.

Easy Install, Instant Maglock Release, and No Glass to Replace
I installed this myself on one of our access control doors with magnetic locks and it was a pretty easy. The surface mount design was dead easy to screw on the wall and the wiring was straightforward. I really like that it has two sets of COM/NO/NC change over contacts, which gives you loads of flexibility depending on how you want to wire your maglocks, alarms, or other circuits. Once I tested it, the lock released pretty much instantly, which is exactly what you want from an emergency exit device.Another thing I like is that there is no glass to replace. It uses a resettable mechanism with the supplied key, so after testing I just reset it and carried on. The ABS body feels solid and the green housing stands out nicely on the wall. As someone who installs this sort of gear, I appreciate simple kit that just works and does not cause headaches. Proper decent bit of kit and I would happily fit another one.

"Break Glass" but fortunately without glass and easily resettable
This switch is for operating electrically locked doors but could also be used for anything electrical which you will permit being operated in exceptional circumstances. Do make a new label. It can be used in a variety of different electrical configurations and can operate at least two distinct electrical circuits. A comprehensive set of wiring diagrams shows how.The switch can be attached to a recessed wall box but comes with its own wall fitting if one is not available. Although called "Break Glass" there is no glass involved. At least, I can't see any. Pressing on the white face of the switch releases a mechanical device, which in turn operates the electrical switches. A special tool is needed to reset the mechanism.I don't think a heavy blow, perhaps in panic, would disable the mechanism rather than operate it, but it is a consideration. As in any "safety of life" situation sole reliance on an electrical mechanism is problematic - how about a power failure in a fire. For situations in which you would permit operation of, say, exits but want to know it has happened, this switch is ideal.
