Restrictive for the use. I was able to get it on my dog and adjust it but it still looked to be hindering my dog and no assisting. My vet also said it wasn’t a great idea to use.

The instructions for actually applying the brace to the dog on the package are really poor sketches, making them rather unclear as to proper positioning and strapping. The video doesn't clearly show how to wrap "around the belly and back to the croup". The instructions for adjusting the hinge are clear enough. We managed to get the brace on finally, but within a few steps my dog took the belly strap would slide right off our GSD's backside and down around his ankles, making it not brace anywhere near his knee at all and tripping him. (As in the photo, after the failure.)Our boy is 88lbs. (Smallish for a male, normally 90 to 120) and even with an XXL brace, it just barely wrapped around his knee at the haunch properly (That light furry part at the back of his leg). It was super tight. He measured at 15 inches circumference, within the suggested size. It just doesn't stay up during movement to brace or support anything..if it did, it might have been a great stabilizer as the hinge part itself seemed to work. I gave it one star only due to this fundamental flaw of falling right off. Having to return it very disappointed.
