How do these chips compare to oak infusion spirals?

I bought the 4 oz. package of american oak chips. i’m going to use them in bourbon. have these been toasted or do i need to do that myself? there is n

These are already toasted. I would recommend boiling them for a few minutes to make sure they're sterile, but other than that they're ready to go.

How long can i leave these oak chips in my moonshine?

Thank you. You can leave the oak chips in as long as you wish. It will eventually reach its maximum flavor extraction after which point it will no longer impart any more character.
