Cushy, comfortable handles. Cuts cleanly- even heavy strings. Good solid wire/string cutter. Can’t say how it handles nylon strings.

Wow! They actually cut the strings.I have used cheapo wire cutters that fight me on every string. These cut through with no problem.I recommend!

Nice and compact. Sturdy. Works for bass strings. Comfortable grips. BUT, the so-called sheath is just a piece of plastic that fits over the nose of the dikes...and will most likely be lost very soon.

I am just extremely pleased with the quality and precision of this wire cutter. Excellent ergonomic design on the handles - I love the pinky tail at the end, fits my hand perfectly. I just used them for the first time, and I was very impressed how cleanly they cut with so little effort, because the cutting edges are sharp and align perfectly. The return spring is just right for keeping them open. I put a very light coat of oil on that spring, and on the cutting head, so I will be able to enjoy using them for many years to come. Every once in a while you run across a great product, and this is one of them.

I bought thse cutters after deciding to restring my Epiphone Viola guitar with flatwound strings vs. the roundwound strings that came with the bass. Thankfully Youtube provides excellent videos on changing strings. So after ordering some flatwounds, I added the MusicNomad Grip Cutters to the cart to give me basically everything I would need to change strings. First of all, I was really impressed with the appearance and build quality of these string cutters. It feels like a precision instrument and even comes with a protective guard to protect the blades and prevent scratching of items stored with the cutters. I keep mine in the packaging that it came with and store in a drawer. The cutter works perfectly on thick bass strings and cleanly cuts any silk windings on the ends of the strings as well.
