Snow's Manhattan Clam Chowder, 15 oz Can - 11g Protein per Serving - Ready-to-Serve Authentic Manhattan Style Recipe

I really love this Manhattan clam chowder! It is good when made simply by heating it up, but I have added a couple modifications that make it even better. I add half a can of whole milk (Lactaid because I’m lactose intolerant) and a whole can of clams by the same brand as the soup (including the clam juice). I simmer it on the stove, stirring frequently. Then, to finish it off, I add ground black pepper to taste. It is so delish! And it makes 2 hearty servings. Highly recommend!

Tasty, but it's much too costly for what you get. I had hoped for a better product. Be prepared to add a can or two of chopped clams.

It is ok. I may buy it again sometime but won't be a regular purchase.

I bought this product for my husband. He enjoys tomato based products such as this soup. Unfortunately he found the soup to be bland. I had to add a hot pepper sauce to jazz it up. Then he enjoyed it. Probably will not be purchasing this again. Oh well, I tried.

I would guess the people who think it is too thin and not white must have never had delicious Manhattan Claim Chowder and must not travel much other than to New England but certainly not to New York. Mahattan Chowder is a tomato-based soup with small pieces of potatoes and carrots. This brand of soup tops the list for my favorite Manhattan Clam Chowders and I highly recommend it, I added some tabasco sauce to add a little spice, the only minor thing I would add is the clam pieces were chopped a little too small. I have also had many helpings of New England Clam chowder from many travels to the area and store bought can servings. Well, the best I can say, if you like a milk-based potato soup and few clams and no claim taste, then New England Chowder is your view of what Clam Chowder is, but certainly not mine!

I love clam chowder. I've had many different kinds from many different places and from many different brands. I didn't like this. I ate it because it did cost money (I hope i don't regret that), but I would not buy it again. First off, the color surprised me, it's red. But that isn't the problem for me. Like I said in the title, it is really watery, which maybe is just a style that I'm not used to, and it doesn't taste very good. It was very bland but has an odd aftertaste that I can't quite put my finger on, and the clams (few that there are) are the chewiest things I've ever had. Actually, there isn't much of anything in it other than water. I tried doctoring it up with some seasonings, onion power, garlic and pepper, but it just isn't my cup of tea, or soup as it were.

It seems people don't know what Manhattan Clam Chowder is. Its more of a vegetable soup with clams. For a canned soup its really pretty good. If you are looking for white creamy chowder buy New England, though most canned are too thick for real Cape Cod Quahog Chowder,
