Fantastic book!
For anyone concerned with how best to deal with uncertainty, this book has lots of answers. There are many practical, actionable techniques available to ease your mind, improve decision making and understand how the world works. From the first chapter (leave for appointments early to avoid the uncertainty of a traffic jam) to the last chapter (where the author clearly describes why people have such divergent views of reality) the book is full of wisdom. The author also shows some good uses of uncertainty, such as enhancing privacy and improving sport team performance. I highly recommend this outstanding book and thank Mr. Pishro-Nik for writing it!

Will rate five stars if...
This is a great little book that manages to put some aspects of uncertainty we run into in our everyday lives into very understandable (uh, practical) and therefore useful terms. Well worth reading. One important topic I wish Prof Pishro-Nik had covered or at least examined is democracy (voting) and opinion polling, especially how sensitive they can be to intentional and unintentional manipulation. This is such an important part of our everyday lives, that I decided to take one star off my otherwise five star review to encourage the wise professor to immediately undertake a second volume.

clear presentation of complex ideas.
Loved this book, and I know I will refer back to it as I try to implement the strategies based on uncertainty.

Clear Explanation of Serious Topics
I liked the real world examples and explanations, using simple pennies for examples of randomness and probability. This book has definitely helped me make some recent decisions (I was never good at this). Even a HS kid with basic math background and interest should understand the concepts IF they apply themselves. But equally important, it should help them see the world in a more RATIONAL way! I wish I read this book 20 years ago. Thank You!

Great book about the logic of decisionmaking
A relatively unknown author and possibly a self-published book, but I found this to be a very good guide for analyzing problems, and for decisionmaking in the face of uncertainty. I would buy it again - it was rewarding in ways that most self-help and logic books can't touch. 9.5 on my 10 scale.

love this non-technical book
Outstanding non-technical explanations of complicated ideas is the easiest way possible. If you have an interest in artificial intelligence or randomness you should purchase this book.

Had high hopes
This book could have been a short story. You can only keep saying the same thing so many times. We chose this for a book club and all came away with the same conclusion.
